I hope your right but the Toronto Sports scene makes it hard to have high hopes for anything . I am cautionly optimistic .I have very high hopes for the raps this year!
you can be optimistic as long as you keep your sights realistic.I hope your right but the Toronto Sports scene makes it hard to have high hopes for anything . I am cautionly optimistic .
What are we optimistic about? We can't compete with the elite teams in the league. By the way, I read in the paper recently that James Johnson was ranked top in the league just under Lebron James for defensive contributions.I have very high hopes for the raps this year!
No question James Johnson has talent. His attitude may be his problem. When Chicago traded him, you tend to think they are loaded and he just wasn't good enough, but when Toronto DUMPS him, you tend to think there has to be a problem as Toronto is not overloaded with talent. What are we optimistic about? i thought JJ was our best player last year lol sad to see him goBy the way, I read in the paper recently that James Johnson was ranked top in the league just under Lebron James for defensive contributions.
All that for Iguodala? Glad they didn't make the deal, that would have been plain stupid.CYBULSKI: IGUODALA WAS ALMOST A RAPTOR
From what I've been told by an NBA source, the Sixers were eyeing Toronto's eventual first-round pick this summer, Terrence Ross, along with an additional first-round pick, plus point guard Jose Calderon's expiring contract along with another roster player, believed to be forward Ed Davis.
The Raptors ultimately backed off because Iguodala was unlikely to stay in Toronto long term. The 28-year-old is set to make $14.7 million this upcoming season, with a player option for $15.9 million in 2013-14. The dollars weren't the issue, but the problem was, there was no guarantee that the Olympic Gold medallist would've cashed in that player option with Canada's lone NBA squad.
The Raps were considering this? Why? As for "Olympic Gold Medalist", yes he was on the team, but imho he wasn't much of a factor. They would have won without him. Some scribe sticks the phrase in to make him seem better than what he is.CYBULSKI: IGUODALA WAS ALMOST A RAPTOR
