Ford does not like to associate with gays, that's pretty obvious at this point. He's entitled to his personal opinion whether you agree with him or not. However as mayor, Ford is a public figure and needs to put his personal opinion aside and do what's right for the people of the city by owning up to the responsibilities as mayor. Many agree with Ford's opinion and many don't, and you will have your chance to vote and voice your opinion on how he's carrying out his duties and responsibilities as mayor.
Personally, I will not attend the parade as I'm not a big supporter of those exhibitionists in the parade, many of my gay friends are embarrassed of the parade and do not want to be associated with it in any shape or form. The first and only one I attended was a turn off, I'm not interested in seeing gay couples sticking their tongues down each other's throats and grinding their pelvises to express their sexual freedom, just like I have no interest in seeing a heterosexual event where couples are doing the same.

I guess one of the issues is that the gay community needs to make us understand why public nudity and loud debauchery is in line with 'gay'.
I am quite certain, that if the Gay Pride Organizers held a Macy's like or Rose Bowl type parade..... Ford would go.

What's wrong with him not being there to support the biggest tourist event every year in Toronto that promotes understanding and acceptance of all types not just gays and drunk people. Like being a escort for example, I have a sticker on my fridge from last pride that says 'SLUT' if I didn't live in a place that accepted me and allowed me to be PROUD of who I am, I would not be the confident, happy person I am and be able to provide the service I do. Is it not obvious why it is an inappropriate statement from the mayor of the city hosting the event?

See here's the thing yes there are some pretty weird people at the parade but you forget that there will also be tame people there too.

I have watched the parade. I have friends who have been in the parade and in both situations it was not the wild gay orgy that people make it out to be.

IS there a quote where Ford has said that his problem is the nudity? If so forgive me for not reading it. Otherwise, it's pure speculation that nudity is the problem.
The dude coaches football.... if he has played it then he has seen his fair share of naked fat guys. He should be fine with it. 
hes done nothing to bash gays, ford isnt doing anything to negatively affect the gay community. the left is creating the issues you are speaking of, its a figment of their imagination

Well, I've never been to the pride parade - so I guess I'm "ignorant" - but from what I've heard, there's a good chance I'd see things that I simply don't want to see. This by no means means I don't have full support for equal rights for gay people..
Maybe I should check out the parade one of these days (never know if you'll like something until you try, right?). But I really wouldn't want to go on my own..
I don't forget there are tame people there, I'm focused on the wackos and I do not wish to use my time watching a parade where there are a certain number of numb nuts mixed in with the so called tame people. My experience is different than yours, I seen enough of them that I have no desire to go.

The Pride parade has evolved into something other than just about being gay.... It's about being able to be yourself.... I post my half naked pictures all over the web and advertise being a slut in a very public manner, and the people on here are overly explicit, sometimes vulgar reviewing my sexuality and services. How would I be able to handle that if I wasn't able to scream to the rooftops that I am PROUD to be a slut. I wouldn't... I would be embarrassed and ashamed, like some of my fellow providers. Do you know what that does to a persons self esteem and worth?
