And I don't mean SPs/MPAs since most of them probably want to keep their work and personal life separate. I'm talking about other male hobbyists.

I voted No.

TERB has some interesting characters. But it seems to me the people who establish friendships beyond the board tend to be folks who have let the hobby dominate too much of their lives.

(I might let Mrs. L. take me shopping. But that would be it).

Would have thought it would go under the "what could go wrong with that plan?" heading. Privacy is the appeal to this type of board.

I have.
I even met up with one at a Liberal event (we are both card carrying Liberals).
Another I had do a presentation for me at a meeting.

But these people have respect for me and understand that my escort life could never be disclosed in those settings.

only two: Fuji so we could go for a beer and cause some mayhem together (tucker maxx is a pussy compared to the trouble we could get up to) and blackrock so I can kick him in his police ball licking mouth

anyone else? Hmmm..maybe GG2, his is one of the few with a decent opinion on most things.

Oh and simon so I could tea bag him while he sleeps

Over the years I have received some very nice PM's from decent TERBies who rarely post in the open forum (for obvious reasons). They would probably make good friends as well.

I voted yes. But with a provision.

It would take extraordinary circumstances for that to happen. I've had a few invites here and there.

One in particular that I regreteed was not going to a poker game held with a bunch of the old time terbites. But I explained that I was intimidated assuming they were high rollers and serious poker players. Whereas I play the occassional evening of poker that costs say 60 to buy in for the evening.

But all in all I'd say it would be unlikely for me to meet with terbites in person.

So I guess I really should have voted, no.

Depends on whether we have common interests outside the hobby.
If no, I wouldn't befriend anyone just because we both hobby.
OTOH, if yes, I wouldn't not befriend someone just because they hobby.

I voted 'yes' only because I respect the quoted poster. He seems to have the same disposition as mine and I imagine he would be cool to hang with.
