a light in peripheral vision =/= shining in peoples faces. you are too much of a stupid hypocrite to comprehend this.

So why does every movie theatre make this announcement? Its the rules, not opinion: cell phones during movies are annoying.

There is no debate here about what the announcement means. It doesn't say "mute your cell phone" or "don't talk on your cell phone" or "texting only". It says turn it off. Every theatre. Every movie. Turn it off.

it clearly says silence your cell phone in this add for a chain of theatres .

you cant just post some random pic and say that its for that in ALL theatres.

Oh, maybe you're right then. After all, THIS example of a mature and thoughtful citizen agrees with you. You're in good company.

you referenced a theatre that has the strictest rule on mobile devices in north america. you use you're cell phone you will get kicked out. this definitely doesnt reflect any other theatre around.so i hope you felt smart for a split second.

typical attitude from a Hypocrital self centred moron.

next time you see any one use their cellphone in public tell them that they are shining it in your face and see what response you get.

well that doesn't even make sense. lol
He's throwing a temper tantrum, I mean hissy fit, like the 13 year old girl whose sensibilities he shares. So he's incoherent right now. I mean, its so UNFAIR. People are being MEAN TO HER. I mean him.

no it isnt. the screen is way above the peoples heads in the theatre. look at the screen dummy not men's laps.
The situation in question revolved around the guy storing his phone in the cupholder. I wasnt leaning over to stare at his lap as I'm sure my grandkids would wonder what I was doing. In colossus at theater number 13 when you sit normally you can clearly see the cup holder in front of you. When a text or email comes in the screen lights up. Its that simple...it distracts me. I'm not sure why you resort to replying to fuji's comments with a multitude of personal attacks. Perhaps you can stay the fuck away from any movies the rest of us are at and use your phone to help you read your colouring books.

some one silently checking their cellphone in a theatre isn't disrespecting me on any level.
