Have read first 100 pages of "The Third Reich in Power." And the truth is indeed more terrifying than fiction. Hitler had at least 85 prominent Germans murdered in 1934 without trial. Included were his predecessor as Reich Chancelor and his wife. And this is what he said after the slaughter:

"If anyone reproaches me and asks why we did not call upon the regular courts for sentencing, my only answer is this: in that hour, I was responsible for the fate of the German nation and was thus the Supreme Justiciar of the German people! ... I gave the order to shoot those parties mainly responsible for this treason."

No evidence of treason was ever offerred against those murdered. So Hitler admitted he alone was judge, jury and executioner. This is the Nazi world if Hitler had won.

But you have to judge those 30's dictators - Stalin and Hitler - by the context of their own ideology. Neither of them was a liberal democrat and neither gave a shit about humanitarian ideals. Both of them felt that it was his duty to transform his country by any means available, including murder, torture and mass extermination. What strikes us as repulsive and crazy was totally normal in the context of 1930's Nazism or Communism.

One also has to take into account that the times were much different, news and information didn't get to the rest of the world so easily. It's not like other countries would interfere as well. These guys did as they pleased and ruled out of fear.

Read a book called "In the Presence of Mine Enemies" by Harry Turtledove, widely considered to be the best writer of alternative history. It's fiction, but really striking in its authenticity.

Not to be a snob, but the real genera founder is, "The Man in the High Castle" by Philip K. Dick in 1962. It's an excellent read. It features an alternate history where the axis has won WWII and Japan and Germany settled into a cold war, a book within a book called "The Grasshopper Lies Heavy" (that is an alternate history where the Allies won the war, but it's not the same as our reality), a device called the 'I Ching', and a power struggle between: Joseph Goebbels, Reinhard Heydrich, Hermann Göring. It's also important, because unlike so much other alternate history THERE ARE NO ALIEN SPACE BATS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_space_bats).

If you have to read one WWII alternate history, this is the one.

One of Hitler's major problems is that his ideas were outmoded in the West by the 1940's as Britain, France and the USA all progressed intellectually into the mid 20th Century while Germany became ideologically frozen in the 1910's. By the 1940's, Nazism was beginning to look quite nutty and repulsive.

Nazi Germany kept the Jewish intelligentsia from overtaking Germany which would have led to the slaughter of tens of millions of innocent Germans at the hands of Jews - like it did in Russia, Hungary, and so on.

It is true that a number of leading Bolsheviks were ethnically Jews. That does not mean that either a significant number of Jews let along a majority agreed with them. Or that any of them were anything other than anti-religiousto at best areligious.

So at best Jewish Blosheviks has little to do with Nazi Germany other than perhaps in Hitler's mind.
