When I'm on a SC crawl that's the big reason why I get in the club, move away from the door, and check it out. When I sit I usually pick a secluded spot. This is more for other customers I may be acquainted with. If you bump into a lone guy you know, own it if the guy is as awkward about it as you, but if it's a group of folks or a weirdo who'd you rather not have as a SC pal, then bail (like batman if you have to). I've fled from the back of a SC more than once, and walked in the front door just to walk out the rear / side more than once. Over the years I've only met one civi girl I knew from the real world in a SC. She hauled me to the VIP and it was all good. Though there were no close links to family / close friends there.
The flip side of that was that one year a bunch of dancers must have moved into a building near where I was living. It took me a while to place them, and other than a passing glance there was never any interaction. Shit didn't get awkward until I had a date with a table of dancers two tables down. If it was a friend of a daughter (that I don't have), or some other really close social link, I'd try to get out of dodge as discreetly as possible. The big question there is what does that say about the person they're linked to, are you comfortable with where thinking about that will lead, and are you comfortable with that relationship? Let's be real, hypocritical or not, most people wouldn't be comfortable with their daughter hanging out with sexworkers. Part of that is prejudice against sexworkers and sexwork, and part of that is (all too often accurate) stereotypes about the lifestyles of sexworkers and their associates.
