What kind of sandwich did your mom pack you for lunch in elementary school?

I went home for lunch as I only lived 2 blocks away. In high school I ate at the cafeteria or at McDs. I knew a kid that sometimes had to eat lettuce sandwiches. I think they were on welfare.

Where I went to school the cafeteria ladies were eating as we arrived at school, before the lunch hour, after the lunch hour and as we were leaving school? When They were not serving they were eating. Other people have told me that this was also the case where they went to school.

Two of whatever and a PB&J every day. Now that I'm growed up, it's organic crushed BP and homemade jam. Still near the top of my list of ATFs

With all the posters who claim PB&J, I know what's wrong with this countries younger generation. They don't get to enjoy PB&J enough, especially at school.

A lot of schools have banned peanut butter, as a concession to the kids who have peanut allergies.

When I was in high school, I had a friend named Ralph. His mother used to make his lunch. Ralph's mother was a bit absent minded at times, especially when multitasking. She also wore thick glasses, and couldn't see past the end of her nose without them.

One day Ralph's mom had a cold, and she wasn't wearing her glasses in the kitchen. The phone rang while she was making his lunch, and she tried to do two things at the same time. At lunch time, Ralph checked his sandwich, and he had peanut butter and Vicks VapoRub. His mom had used it instead of honey. She couldn't smell the difference, with her cold, and couldn't see the difference, without her glasses. They spread about the same on PB. It's a true story, but most people call bullshit.

My family did not move around when I was growing up, I went to one grade school and one high school. There was this kid that followed me from grade school to high school, I never met him or talked to him, but I saw this kid around school for 12 years. The reason he stood out was that he would bring this large sandwich for lunch every day made from a loaf of Italian bread, a foot long 4 inches wide. It would be stuffed with lettuce, tomatoes and cold cuts. When he ate his sandwich, he held it with two hands like he was choking someone. He would put his two elbows on the lunchroom table and lean forward till the other end of the sandwich would touched the table. When he took a bite of his sandwich he would pull the sandwich away from his mouth and rub the end of the sandwich on the table. It is quite incredible that nobody told him to do this was very unsanitary. He did this for 12 years.

If you saw this kid eating a sandwich in this manner when you were going to school, then you went to the same school as I did.

I'm aware of the PB ban and it does rub me the wrong way a bit that a few kids have such an effect on the many. I know there are a few members with nut allergies and I'm glad I'm not one of them, but let's have the few eat their lunched in a second school room so that others can enjoy their food with out wondering if they're masking others sicks. I had three allergies as a kid and outgrow all of them just by exposing myself gradually to the problem substances.

That's how it would be, if the meek hadn't inherited the world.

I knew a fellow who was allergic to fish enough that we was able to leave early on Fridays. No secret what denomination his school was. Oddly enough I've only known 2 people with fish allergies and they were both Newfies.

For me, Some sort of meat sandwich, I liked Roast Beef. If there were no suitable leftovers, tuna with mayo. I recall Apples and boxes of raisins but I don't know if it was both or and either/or situation. Some sort of pastry treat, Vachon. Flacky, Jos Louis, May West, and a can of coke.
