Eye wintesses also said they saw Trayvon attacking George from behind, punching him, then taking him down to the ground.
.........struggle ensues, then, POP! POP!

Kid is dead.

More details to come.
I haven't seen a single eyewitness report saying that Zimmerman was hit from being other than Zimmerman's own comments.

One Eyewitness said that at one point Trayvon was on top of Zimmerman. No witnesses have come forward to say anything about the start of the confrontation other than the kids girlfriend who heard the start. To add, Zimmerman admitted that he chased after the kid. Beyond that is speculation. I am sure that the kids autopsy will show if he had any injuries other than the gunshots.

Obviously details are lacking and likely Zimmerman will not get convicted of a serious crime but people accusing this kid of being a thug without real reason are pathetically unrealistic.

This is going to be one ugly fucking case and actually, it is already.

Cops may be leaking info to the media, illegally of course. Zimmerman knows what really happened.
I was very interested in all this, but now, fuck it. It's just too all over the map, I'll wait a few weeks and see what's up then.

CNN and other media outlets keep harping that Zimmerman should be charged and stand trial. How in hell is a jury going to find him guilty? The only eyewitness says Martin was on top of Zimmerman beating his head into the pavement. Zimmerman has the broken nose and cuts to the back of his head to prove it. Zimmerman also claims when the 911 operator told him not to continue following Martin he stopped and was returning to his car when the 6' 3" Martin attacked him. There is no evidence to refute this. So it seems the only reason to go through a trial that not a jury in the land would convict would be to appease black people who would never accept the not guilty verdict that would surely be the result. Well fuck that.

This has long since left the realm of the legal and entered the realm of the political.

The night of the shooting the police contacted the on call Assistant State's Attorney who told them no you don't have enough for an arrest. The States Attorney's Office is now presenting the case to a Grand Jury for possible indictment.

Although it is inflammatory to say so, frankly this has degenerated into a lynch mob type atmosphere

I think you are right but I also think part of the problem is that no one believes that had the ethnicities of the parties been reversed a black shooter would have been given the same benefit of the doubt. Regrettably I think that is likely the case as well and that the black shooter would be passing his time in jail waiting to prove the self-defense to a jury.

Now let's add some things to all this.

1. George found the kid to be suspicious for whatever reason(s).

2. He followed him, even though the police told him not to.

3. Did the kid continue to walk even though being followed or did he turn around and confront George with or without attitude?
If without attitude, then yes, George is guilty.
If with attitude and he was threatening and George felt threatened and that his life was in danger, then George was protecting himself; under law, he has the right to do so.

4. We need to wait and see if and when any more details emerge from all this.

You've over simplified it with details we seem to know, but how much do we NOT know?
In any case, the kid didn't deserve to die.

The kid was just walking along minding his own business when this Cracker comes out of no where for no reason and figures that he's on a mission.

We really don't know about that. However, if you change it to "didn't need to have died" then I can certainly agree with you.

Mr. Zimmerman, shouldn't have followed him in my opinion, but that doesn't necessarily make what he did criminal, that depends upon whether he was pursuing and the "stand your ground" provisions of Florida law do not apply. We shall have to wait to see what the Grand Jury has to say.

I will retract my comments about him being a thug....cause OGI might get himself banned if he keeps it up.

I understand that we should let the investigators...not TERB...not CNN...the investigators do the job, and await the final outcome of the investigation.

Once done I will wade in with further comment.

I would also encourage OGI to retract his comments on the guilt of Zimmerman...until the investigation is complete.

Thank You

He's not a cracker. He was latino. World of difference here.

Cue CM - "But hispanic is not a race!"

Sure but colloquially, hispanic is a race. And the media has been playing this situation (and many of us) like a violin.

They've using pictures of Trayvon from when he was 13. Not current ones where he looks like a thug. They're using old photos of Zimmerman wearing a shirt that is colored "county jail" orange.

They've even touched up some photos of Trayvon to make him look less black. Don't believe me? Check out this photo from the Miami Herald.

http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/03/22/2708960/trayvon-martin-a-typical-teen.html

Most media outlets and special interest organizations are using a photo where he appears to have lighter skin tones.

A broken nose isn't always apparent in photographs. I haven't seen any photos of the back of his head. I agree that this is an overly politicized mess.

Are you sure that you are a Canadian citizen? You cannot be Canadian citizens; well if you have dissociative identity disorder maybe you can? Please learn that Canadian is capitalized and the difference between singular and plural.

BTW, The only time that colour matters is when the laundry needs washed.

Really, if you are having such a problem here, feel free to leave. You can leave it's a freedom Canadians enjoy.

Perhaps. It would be common for a broken nose to bleed and there seems to be no blood on his shirt but one of my three didn't. The back of his head is visible in some of the footage and there doesn't seem to be damage there either unless the paramedics did a really good job.

What is more apparent to me is that there is no blood evident on his clothes which would mean that it was unlikely that Trayvon was on top of Zimmerman when the shooting took place and therefore the need for 'self defense' would be lessened. I guess it's possible that the police allowed him to change clothes first but that would seem against the typical procedures on any crime show.

I'm sure more will come out, Zimmerman will not be convicted of a serious charge but get sued and there's going to be a whole bunch of angry people.

OGI has graciously made my point. Thank You.

You see..no one knows me...how illustrious my career is, how supportive I am of parents, how helpful and giving I am to others, how much I give to charity, how polite and mannerly I am...you know nothing. NOTHING!

But...assuming I am the most gracious person in the world.....when I act a certain way...do things..say thing...I am labeled by OGI a certain way with his disparaging remarks. He identified me in a certain way and thought of me quite negatively.

I get it OGI...because of how I acted you now make assumptions about me...and they may well be quite wrong.

Martin was entitled to do as he pleased. Quite right.

And Zimmerman...like OGI can react as he saw fit.
