I wasn't moralizing (and not even suggesting that that's what you think I was doing). I was just pointing out that it's useless to think about issues like police, laws, etc. in the same way that we think about them here in Canada. In many parts of the world the police do pretty much whatever they want to do!
I didn't think you were moralizing, but yeah you're right. However, don't fuck with them.

Also, better not to rent vehicles, although people do regardless, because if you get into an accident, I think there could be more problems then you would expect.

There are no 'rates'.

There are no cops that can be dealt with easily. If any at all.

The only thing truly off the table is underage girls (as it damned well should be!)

Other than that, Cuba is the best place to go for a Canadian.

Go soon. The days are numbered and this won't last much longer.

If any of you have read my previous Cuba posts, you'll know I can write a guidebook and with my perpetual love for the island, there are no more Cuban world to conquer.
There are rates. I have met girls at cafes in Havana, and they have quoted me their rates upfront. Others are more discreet and pretend to be your girlfriend while hoping to receive gifts and cash without looking like pros. They have enough local boyfriends, they don't need another, they just need someone who will help them obtain a little luxury, cash or passport out of Cuba.

Once while crossing a street with a girl, she was pulled aside by a uniformed cop and hauled down to the police station where she was kept for several hours before being released. Merely for crossing the street with me.

Always ask to see their ID cards. When they turn 18 they get a "carne" but before that they just have minority papers. Stay away from any girl without ID.

Most Cubans have learned to lie to get through life. They will tell you what they think you want to hear, or what they think will get the most from the foreign "boyfriends"

Why so many ladies? Is the male/female ratio unbalanced in that country?
The locals are impoverished.

The girls will go to the clubs with their boyfriends, but seperate once they enter. The boyfriend will watch from a distance as she tries to pick up a tourist. If she succeeds, he will be her "taxi driver" or "brother" or "cousin" and help you find a house to do the deed.

It's the only way many of them have to earn any money, so the girls will usually be more visible than the guys because they have more to offer us.
I'm a little surprised by Mahovalich's question. The state of Cuba is common, global knowledge. I didn't think it had to be asked.

Hare's answer is right on the $.

There still are no rates but any arrangement is private between the couple. Often, any of the girls I've met have been very upset with my offering $. They are not 'Jineteras'.

It's a 'Carnet' which is a french word for Permit or Identification. "Carne" means MEAT in Spanish.

Yes, like many places in the world, hardship breeds savviness. Play the game as a visitor, sure, but play it by YOUR rules and don't be a schmuck to a Crock & Bull story. Be savvy yourself before anyone else is.

I have been quoted the exact same rate by various girls who propositioned me on the street.

It's been a long week and month, of course I should have noticed my spelling mistake, carnet not carne

I recall meeting a couple of Canadian guys who told me they had met a couple of "nice university students" when I was in Holguin. I bumped into them in the local square later. The "nice student" was one who had been hitting on me at a club the night before. Many "nursing students" or "accounting students" who seemingly never have to attend classes or work!! ;)

This is a description of the place GPIDEAL met his future wife:

http://www.fantasyislands.com/bars.htm

Club Rio (also known as Johnny's), Havana, Cuba.

A pick-up joint with a live floor show and music. A bit over-priced (it's owned by the government), but the ladies lined up along the wall are lovely indeed. Bargain with them. If you get lucky there won't be an electricity outage while you're there. (No refunds on the cover charge.) You'll have to pay for two taxi's to take a lady back to your room, or you'll risk her getting in deep trouble with the federales who'll accuse her of prostitution if they see her with a foreigner.

Lmao! No man it really went down. Also dealt with a pro all wasted behind La Rhomba and armed guards were patrolling nearby.
Make sure she's overage, or they'll throw you in one of their disgusting jails and treat you worse than a spy working for the CIA.

Always wanted to take a trip to Cuba,Columbia and Dominican Republic.

But no Espanol. Got's to get some Rosetta Stone I guess.

I would be scared with the Police in Cuba especially.

I like the information here on the many "loopholes" towards getting some poon in Cuba.

Juanita looks pretty hawt by the way.

Thanks for your review. It has renewed my commitment toward visiting the overseas hotties.
Bianca Sanchez (who's Colombian, and who is the perfect antidote for Cuban withdrawal symptoms lol) recommends Cartagena!

As for Juanita, here's another cropped pic for you studmuffin lol.

Truer words couldn't be spoken. Every gal can hustle, from maid to waitress, however, there are genuine, hardworking ladies who are married and loyal (one asked us if we could use her husband to taxi us from place to place, so we gave him some business because she was a nice bartender). Being a tourist with means and money gives you rock star status. A blonde singer in a band at the hotel gave me her phone # after I bought her CD for 10 CUC. She said she'd love to go out with me (and that it was okay with her boyfriend). I didn't take up on her offer because after going to the clubs, those girls monopolized our time, but I'm sure that would've generated a 'war story'.

Fruity Hare, you're a fucking genius but now everybody's gonna go to Johnny's and try to fuck my future wife, lol (yes, the sign outside said Club Rio). Bottle service - depends how expenseive yours is - for us, a bottle of 7 Year-Old Havana Club - 60 CUC, lol.)

Believe it or not, I saw a gal I fucked when I was there last in December 2010, but I met her at a different club. What are the odds?!

Here are other great clubs besides the infamous Johnny's!

> Cafe Cantate (there's also another club next door but I forget the name, something like Don Libreo but one can ask to be precise).

> Capri

> La Maison

> La Cecilia (large outdoor club, been told ratio is 10 chicas to 1 tourist; my friend went alone and had to choose from 40 girls that swarmed him which is truly a problem - it really is tough when you have celebrity status without your own bodyguard lol).

> Tun Tun (excellent live latin rap and where I met the girl who I alluded to above in my December 2010 trip);

> The club by the sea behind Don Cangrejos seafood restaurant (I think it's also called Don Cangrejos). Live DJs and music videos and many locals (less of a hustle crowd - I swear there were four sexy ladies dancing who wanted to party with us but we were already paired).

- Casa Di Musica (my friends don't like this one cuz they think it's a tourist trap & they only want to mingle with local girls, not foreigners, however, my last 'future wife who acted and looked like a supermodel or pornstar in the bedroom' supposedly was seen there by another gal we met recently after I showed her the pic on my BB).

Also true. We met lovely waitresses that would go out with us to the clubs. They are content with their day jobs and would go out with a turista, but would be offended if you offered them money for sex. So one has to be a gentleman and play the dating game.

GPIDEAL you forgot to tell everyone to bring a bag of condoms :hand:
Yeah of course. I brought a big box and stored some in my safe or locked my suitcase. The ones that I didn't use, including a bottle of lube, I gave to my future wife before I left because I want my girl to play safe lol.

There's an outside bar/cafe at a public place where you can meet local girls and get phone #s for hook-ups later. It's near a mall complex called La Rampa (not far from a big, wall mural with a painting of 3 revolutionaries including Che with the words, Todos Por La Revolucion). Be discreet though cuz there are cops around.

Mucho gracias Senor Draper. I talked about your approach with my friends, especially one who is looking for love in Cuba, something more permanent for when he visits, not a fast woman. I told him to learn the language and mingle with the non-pros, non-club girls.

Believe me, we try to fraternize with locals at malls, mercados and even on their public transit - but all is forgotten when you party at the clubs. However, there are gems to be found, even walking on the sidewalk. That kind of chase is perhaps more fun.
