I've been using rogers but after all the charges that incurred (that made me dizzy) I was ready to try anything out. Did my research and called Teksavvy (phone conversation was a breeze) Told me all the charges to install the internet. Had to Pay modem and installation. Modem they can bill it with your monthly bill...I was still a bit skeptical. my plan was $36 - 300 gig - around 12mbs...once I was up and running....the speed i'm more than happy with. I can barely fill up the 300 gig and i'm a heavy user btw youtube, DLs, ps3 you name it it's running 24/7 and what do you know. my bill doesn't go above $45. Make that phonecall and ask if they do have service in your area.

I am with teksavvy and pay $46 + taxes. Have 12 MB download, 1 MB upload. 300 GB bandwidth. Been with them for a year and there has only been a downtime once for about 15 minutes.

If you are concerned about the modem cost you can try find one on ebay. they go for considerably cheaper amount/ both new and used.

Does that include a phoneline plus phone number as well, or just internet service on your existing phoneline??

Only reason that I use rogers is that my home phone, cell, tv and internet are all bundled so overall it is cheaper for me and bandwidth charges only happen once in a whle if I downlaod a lot that month.

Rogers is horrible. But bell has the worst customer service rating in Canada(have experienced it first hand). Its a lose-lose situation. Don't know much about Teksavvy, but it couldn't possibly be any worse.

if you wanna get Teksavvy, get the CABLE service not the DSL.. the DSL will be / or / already throttled as Bell is controlling the traffic.. the CABLE is through Roger's infra structure, same modem, but works like a charm!!!

TekSavvy Lite Cable 3 3Mb/256kb 300GB $30.95 Order Now

I don't know much but does this beat Rogers Hi-Speed Express service? the monthly allowance of 300GB is a lot but speeds seem slow compared to Rogers which are

Up to 18 Mbps download speed†
Up to 512 Kbps upload speed†††
70 GB monthly usage

you would probably want the TekSavvy Extreme Cable 24 @ $46.95

i got their DSL. never been throttled and i dont have to worry about slow downs due to traffic.

Funny you say that, because every NIGHTtime our internet gets significantly throttled to 33%. Either that, or it's the antiquated infrastructure in Richmond Hill...

Rogers gets slow at night in many areas... just overloaded by antiquated infrastructure. This is why they are doing caps.... they are trying to squeeze as much money out of customers that they can, out of their existing system, without having to put much money back into it.
