This is ignorant in so many ways...As a side, that's what they get for fcking like bunnies and creating a mass human population.
Yeah.... you can tell he hasn't been anywhere....This is ignorant in so many ways...

I DVRed it but have not watched it yet, have not had the time... by the weekend I'll give you my review. You have no idea my dear American (wearing a Canadian patch on his arm when he travels) buddy.
Btw, no comments on the special? Surprised, you were so proud to be post about it and when/if you saw it, one would realize it was more of an "image" concern and not a TRUE concern for the people working for FoxConn.
They BARELY grazed over the reasons as to why people who worked there killed themselves.
Not really:Sorry, what`s MUCH worse are the corporations that are exploiting this FACT.
Why are a lot of corporations going to India and China?
Because they can get A LOT of workers for VERY cheap, the old adage "beggars can`t be choosers" comes to mind.
Did you see the amount of people lining up at FoxConn for these jobs which pay under $1.78 an HOUR?
Crammed into 7 people per room, 1 bathroom?
Sorry, it`s a fact, I`m just stating it.
A Chinese guy I worked with years ago (Eng) even said his country`s population is "so excessive it`s insane", truth be told, I brought it up first and he shockingly agreed.
He half jokingly said that he`s not surprised that there were more events like SARS happening at least once a month because of the close proximity that Chinese live in with each other.
But ya, corporations are exploiting these human numbers, me stating a fact isn`t as bad as corporations paying these guys next to fuck all and pocket billions over the sales.
...just like apple.
So when people boast their numbers at how well they`re doing and how they`re the #1 brand, with that comes great responsibility.
The ONLY reason they did make any changes, (ie - increasing wages) was because they were coming under scrutiny, so it was their attempt at hushing up the critics.
Didn`t work so well.
Did you watch the special?
Let's be realistic, try applying Western-like working conditions in a communist country like China. Countries like China are so corrupt -- it's an uphill battle.apple buckled and caved in finally.
Guess it's nice to see that contrary to Gatorde's mantra, "Image is everything" and this just proves it. It all comes down to image and marketing.
Apple makes a big story, since they are the biggest target. It's not as if Foxconn doesn't produce other well known brands & products like Kindle, PlayStation 3, Dell, HP, Wii, Xbox 360, etc. etc.We expected to find some real horror stories, and didn’t. That said, what is acceptable on a Chinese assembly line is soul-crushing by American standards,” said Weir (ABC Nightline anchor Bill Weir).
Next up he should go to garment factories, shoe and toy factories and then finally to the countryside to see what these people are desperate to escape.Let's be realistic, try applying Western-like working conditions in a communist country like China. Watched it this evening, it was balanced but mostly it reminded me how really bad broadcast news is... so shallow and meaningless... like a people magazine article, single dump length and depth. You have no idea my dear American (wearing a Canadian patch on his arm when he travels) buddy.
