And why did Thurston Howell III pack so much clothes for a three-hour tour? Why are you reading this? Why are you finding it hard to not respond? Why do some people feel a compulsion to spend energy and time trying to kill off a thread with chilli stuffing?
Looks like in the 21st century North american has reverse that trend.Exactly what is short / tall these days? Thirty years ago 5'8 or so was probably average, and 6 feet was a tall dude. Now the high school kids seem to be pushing 6'4" or so a lot of the time...
I assume it's a function of improved diet and health care but the world is getting taller!

Perhaps, but I don't think the girls are getting any taller?Improved diet or growth hormones in our food?
Oh, really?Perhaps, but I don't think the girls are getting any taller?
EDIT: I'm probably wrong - a very TERB centric view of womenkind I think - everybody wants to be a spinner these days.

clearly she just hasn't met a rich short guy yet.I had always though that prejudice was something that happened because you had enough experience to know a group existed, but not enough to know that they are just people.
People are not often prejudiced towards yack herders in Bhutan because they mostly never meet or hear about them.
I think I am becoming prejudiced towards short men. Not little people, just short men. It feels like men over 4’10” and less than 5’ 5” grow giant chips on their shoulders instead of personalities.
I had a BF in high school for a few weeks who was in that range, and he was a little bully. Even if he was cute I just could not cope with it. It just got so stale. I assumed it was just him.
I have been reading posts here from people like short men and they remind me of him. The insecurity and the whining and the bullying and the anger that life is unfair to them are so similar.
If I have a daughter, I think I may have to instill in her a prejudice against short men
I hate those fuckers also, someone needs to deal with those fucks. Now Tibetan Yak herders, I am all over them like a fly on some very seductive manure. Straight shooters, just wonderful folk.People are not often prejudiced towards yack herders in Bhutan because they mostly never meet or hear about them.
Hi Hanky, clearly she just hasn't met a rich short guy yet.
Dealmaker: In 21 century Western Society for which the #1 attractive attribute of a man is height, YES. Historically & esp. what has beeen discovered of ancient man , NO. Even 2 large tribes in Africa today, there is 0 value put on height & as was theorized, the mix of women taller than their mate, 50/50. They are a hunter, gatherer tribes. Anthropomologists had discovered that this theory conjured up about women preferring the taller mates because they could hunt better to be false. IN FACT: this Christian & Hollywood version that cave man lived like us ( Monogamous family unit, with wifey staying home & father go out to work) completely false. Ancient man was permiscuious ( incl the female) , there was NOT single family units ( more akin to hippiy communes ) and women who were not very young & pregnant also went out and hunted. ANYONE here who has studied anthropomology will know that the Christian/ Hollywodd concepts are completely false. Also in the past few hundred years we have numerous examples were in the scociety other values of attraction were present & height of little importance ..... any cultural, social Historians in the house???
Or the short guys kill off the tall boys so there is no competition? The Hadza Tribe of Tanzania. Today this tribe has a 49/51 mix of woman taller than their mate. I think it is possible because they found there was many taller females choosing shorter mates. Also in many of these tribes the women are taller than the average female here in North America.
That's twice I have agreed with you on a certain subject. You're funny.Oh mercy. If you have a daughter she is going to be sifting through a whole host of issues learned from Mommy. Start the fund for her therapy now.

One exception does not a rule break, especially in isolated populations, and more especially with polygenic traits. This genetic theory has been proven wrong. Not only in anthropomology studies of ancient man but also with a current primitive tribe in Tanzonia. Much of this genetic theory was conjured up with little hard evidence. These genetic preference theories are no longer held. Ancient finds prove otherwise. Also researchers sought to find any tribes/socities were there is not a religious or cast/ financial influence on mate selection. If they could find one they theorized that if height was not a preference in selection then there would be about a 50/50 mix of male or female taller than mate. They found such a tribe. The Hadza tribe in Tanzania. Currently sociologist find that historically mate preference is based on socities influence & what is preferred is based on current traits valued.
