According to the guy who did the documentaries Metal, Global Metal, Iron Maiden Flight 666, Metal Evolution (Great series on much more music) and Rush beyond the lighted stage. He puts them in the family tree.

Back in the 80s most video shows that had metal segments or days would lump them in. Plus metal mags from the 80s as well.

So it's not really off base at all.

I want to like new metal but it's hard to find something that I like. It's either crazy hard or just too new sounding if that makes sense?!!!!? Admittedly much of the mteal I like is dated..... Maiden, Priest, Glam/Hair Metal, Metallica.

i know his list and i know his movies. doesn't mean i agree with him. kiss is not metal, hard rock at best. the only band i hate more than kiss is rush.

After Ten, their next four albums are incredible - if they hadn't shunned the spotlight, they would all be much better known. They didn't really start going downhill in terms of creativity until around 2000, and even then it wasn't awful. It really started to go bad in 2006 with their self titled album, and then the piece of shit they released in 2009 I'm hoping is rock bottom.

Think about this for a moment. If what you're saying is true, who would be the first person to sue Gaga's ass?

Madonna doesn't hide her feelings towards Gaga, she even called her music reductive on public television! Now that's insulting. I know Madonna, or any of her writers, will sue anyone who remotely plagiarizes her music, but they haven't. I wouldn't make the statement Gaga's whole career is plagiarism. If you don't like her music, that's one thing and you're entitled to your opinion, but she isn't accused of plagiarism by anyone, at least legally.

Personally, I like her music, I think she is an extremely talented writer and has a great voice. Oh, and she also knows how to market herself in this industry, probably another thing she copied from Madonna, lol.

Thanks for the dumb answer since it's so wrong on both counts. the members of KISS may not be the best musicians around but they were the first to push the show as a 'spectacle' and make their look as big as their sound/music. You have to give them props for their costume and make up gimmick which was only done so they would not look like any other band at the time.. And guess what? IT WORKED!!!

Now on the other hand the members of RUSH are considered masters of their instruments.. by other musicians off various kinds of music. And they also have a wide influence over many musicians. few rock groups can say the same. To call Geddy Lee a 'no talent' is beyond stupid but of course I've always known this about you due to your silly posts and constant stalking. The fucking guy plays complicated bass lines and plays keyboards with his feet and sings all at the same time in some songs.. Nuff said. Major Bass players give him props the same way guitarists do the same for Hendrix. You're obviously a teenager so go to bed.
