I like her song super bass. She's okay basically a hip hop lady gaga/madonna. But you have to remember her fan base is teenage girls.
Sinatra did okay without playing an instrument.
Do you even like hip hop? Based on the instrument comment I'm guessing no. Not that liking a genre means you should like every artist of that ilk.
She must have some talent to get past all the other people looking for record deals etc.

Totally agree!It's a sad day when someone as untalented as this bitch can get big in the music business when real musicians that can actually play a musical instrument get passed over daily
My favourite genres are classic rock, heavy metal and hip hop and for each of those genres there's probably many bands that I don't like. Doesn't suggest that those genres are dying if I can find music I don't like.

music lost it's way a while ago, this is not a new thing. record companies kept the same deal with these new guys that they had with the old talented folks. difference is the old talented folks made good on it and dumped out 4 or 5 records full of good stuff and the record company only made money on 1 end, the selling of the record and touring. now they get a band to sign the same deal, the band has 1 song and 1 c.d but now the record company is making money on the cd's/itune sales and touring. then telling the artist they need to pay back what is still owed on the contract they can't fill.

But I disagree with the idea that if you don't like something that you can extend that dislike to entire genres of music and music as a whole.
Also, yes lots of pop music is simple but often there's a nugget of cleverness that get's people's attention. While I don't care for a song like Barbara Streisand I can appreciate the ingenuity that it took to create a song that on paper would song like shit.
I will say this that with cheap ways for people to get their music out to an audience. I'm hopeful for a rebirth of music for those willing to go to the internet to find it.
