Did Matt Flynn's performance cost Aaron Rodgers the MVP?

On Sunday Matt Flynn threw for 480 yards and 6 TDs a franchise record for both against a team that had something to play for. Just shows how great the talent around Rodgers really is and maybe the Packers could have gone 15-1 without him.

This combined with the Brees performance the last few weeks could cause Rodgers the MVP award. He was a lock a few weeks ago and now there is talk that Brees will win or there will be a co-MVP.

Why was Rogers sat down? Was he hurt? Did they want to "save" him for the playoffs? Doesn't seem right to send their backup against a team that had something to win.

They were resting Rodgers for the playoffs. For the Lions seeding was on the line. If they had won they would have faced the winner of the Giants/Cowboys game in the first round but now they have to take on the Saints.

Is it true that Matt Flynn will be a free agent after this season?
Yeah he is but apparently the Packers can franchise him and do a sign and trade, like NE did with Matt Cassels. I think they can get a first round pick from the Redskins.

Similar logic as to my assertion why Peyton should be MVP.

You really have no clue do you ? I used to think that you were just goofing around but the more I read your posts, the more I think you rarely watch or know about sports.
If they played Rodgers and he got a season ending injury and the Pack are easily knocked off in their first playoff game. What do you think would happen to the head coach and/or GM ?
There is no reason to play Rodgers. The perfect season was no longer and they locked up everything they could.

Yes ?
Are you listening Jerry Jones ?
I would prefer almost anyone to Romo, almost anyone. And I would love to find out if Flynn was for real next season with the Cowboys.

Breaking the Marino record may have been enough on its own to give Brees the MVP. We all know Goodell loves to shine a spotlight on anything that makes the league look good. So yeah, Flynn may have been the icing. We'll see.

I think Brees deserves to be the MVP this year.
Brees may have been the best player but Peyton Manning proved that he is the Most Valuable Player to his team.
