Ambidextrous People are Brain-Damaged
In hypotheses about the origin and development of handedness the term "ambidextrous" is defined very differently and often only applied to the subjects assessing themselves. In test examinations alleged ambidextrous persons proved to be either converted left-handers or persons whose results were highly incoherent or even contradictory. Systematic investigations of the second group of subjects always revealed perinatal cerebral disturbances. Insufficient oxygen supply to the brain in the perinatal period of life mainly affects the function of the dominant cerebral hemisphere that is responsible for the congenital handedness. This results, phenomenally, in temporary change in the use of hands, so that the person is often wrongly diagnosed as being ambidextrous.
