The disappointment of deleted threads.

I sure wish the Mods would open up the deleted threads depository (cue X-Files theme song) even if it was just once a year. ;)

Have you ever replied to or read a thread and thought "oh, this is going to be good. Can't wait to see this train wreck" only to come back and find the thread has been zapped and kept only for the Mods amusement?

It's like missing out on the ending of a movie. Just a big void.

you could just look at my profile if you like, it is a series of deleted messages by the person that was insulting me and yet my responses were left up on that person's profile so i look like i just decided to pick a fight and insult for no reason.

I understand mods have to moderate this form, but it would be nice if they could just delete out or black out the stuff that does not agree with the rules.

It is so strange. I have seen threats up for a few days, then zap the whole thread is gone. Why?

If you have quoted their comments by using the "reply with quote" button, it will still be there if the original post got deleted, at least that is what i understand.

MHO, if some one insults me personally, i'll NOT reply in kind and just pointing out our diff, and let the board decides who has a more valid point, reply with insult will only escalate the fight to a higher level of insulting.

I don't know ALL the reason for DELETING a thread, officially and "un-officially", but your reason amounts to a small percentage of it, MHO. Lots of time i see thread got deleted because some heavy-handed agencies pull their weight, ONLY my speculation (because i follow the thread and saw nothing that BAD).

I've opened threads, and while I'm writing my post the mod closes it, then I try to post my reply and get an error message . . . Maybe it's me ? :)

I will give you the number 1 reason for never deleting a thread:

"I like someone for her ass"
LOL.

That's actually why I thought about this topic a month or two ago. When that person resurrected that topic and I saw where it was going I though "oh man, this is going to be good. Get the popcorn ready". I sign back on later to check it out and it was deleted.

Left a hole in my life :p

I try to keep track of the threads I've participated in by clicking "my profile", then "previous posts", but I find less than half of my posts are actually shown on that list, so it seems impossible to keep track that way....how unfortunate.
