Here's one thing I don't understand. These burka babes were all indignant about being photographed. Don't they realize that every time you go out in public in a metropolitan area you are almost constantly being photographed. Security cameras are everywhere. Strores, restaurants, banks, street corners. If you don't want your picture taken STAY HOME.
I would not have believed it if someone had posted it here as being something that happened to them personally, but I have to believe a newspaper (even the Toronto Sun) has some vetting process to make sure it's not printing stuff that's made up. I guess there was something going on at Yonge-Dundas on Sunday that attracted a large Muslim crowd.
Not that there's any shortage of women in downtown Toronto wearing the face-covering burka (I believe it's called a niqab) these days, and the very sight of it pretty much seems to invite confrontation. I always give these women a good glare when I pass them on the street (my subtle way of saying "why the fuck don't you move to Saudi Arabia?"), but maybe I should start taking pictures instead!
Well bazokajoe, I agree that the country is in demise due to political correctness. That not saying we shouldn't respect one-another because we should, but when the ethnic, gender identity, political and religious issues are put to the test the powers that be turtle like weak-links. Austraila got it right! conform, learn the language or GTFO and go back where you came from! Another problem in Canada is our own inability to write properly, accommodating new immigrants with start up programs is one thing but allowing the welfare state to implode on taxes and my well-being is another.
Yes, in fact it is SOP for the police NOT to do anything when an assault is reported to them other than their obtaining the identity of the alleged perpetrators and advising that you may go to see a JP on your time to lay your own charges...
The only way they will act is if they witness the act and it is serious breach...
Not necessarily an act of special treatment of a muslim..
FYI if it happened to me I would be blazing away with my camera in their faces, and then defending myself physically to the full extent of my ability... public spaces you have zero expectation of privacy...

Not remotely simple. You get "touched" by a visible minority woman. You beat her like a red-headed stepchild and are then mobbed by her friends and family and charged by the police with assault. If the story happened exactly as written, then the reporter did not seem to be injured by the woman's punch. Absent obvious physical injury and with numerous witnesses claiming that any "punch" was accidental, the police exercised reasonable judgment and declined to pursue the matter.
I am a visible minority male. I still go biblical -they got their book. I got mine. An eye for an eye. I think I'll go downtown and take some pictures.
By the way, if you're going to go around hiding your face behind a mask, you shouldn't be punching people for taking a freaking picture at Dundas Square. It's a tourist trap for Christ's sake. This wouldn't happen, I hope at Times Square. Interestingly, thanks to our wonderful cops, if you did exactly the "right" thing you would have been charged. By that I mean, if you grabbed her and held her for the police you'd be the one arrested. No one was the right to physically attack someone without provocation and everyone has the right to self defense.

This is very dangerous thinking.. This was a situation where the cops were likely too damned lazy to do their jobs.. But you've quickly made this out to be a case of Canada vs Islam.. These people ARE Canadians..
The trouble most 2nd or 3rd generation Canadians have is understanding that Canada is not like the U.S. in that it is not a "melting pot", but rather it is a "mosaic" (multicultural). This means that by bringing their own cultures into Canada and keeping their cultural differences these Islamists ARE BEING Canadian. In Canada we believe it is more valuable to preserve many different cultures and learn to live in Harmony, than to force everybody to adopt little bits of other cultures and drop many aspects of their own.
