Thoughts On The New Jet's Logo?

I thought signing Bobby Hull made them call themselves the Jets. He was known as The Golden Jet.

But now I learned Winnipeg's junior team was known as the Jets back in 1967.

And Ben Hatskins was the first owner, so it was "Benny and the Jets" a very popular song by Elton John around that time.

The first owner named the team after his fav NFL team, NY Jets.

Logo doesn't say Winnipeg or hockey. It doesn't seem inspired by the city or the sport.

If the winning logo was based on the Avro Aero,

I wouldn't neccessarily agree that the famous logos are boring, because of the time they were created. For example, if the Habs were a new team, a skilled graphic designer could come up with something much better now. However, it's such an iconic logo that it's beautiful in its simplicity. I'm not saying the Jets should have had a loud logo, but they could have come up with something that was at least original. This is just a tinkering of the CAF logo. If they wanted to truly recognize the air force through the team logo, they could have come up with something like this CAF logo:
