Don't you see that your story contradicts your beliefs that girls who were sexually abused are not likely be SPs (she was abused and she's a SP)?
I believe one line of thinking is that abused girls have lower self-esteem are more likely to be more promiscuous (and thus more likely to be in the adult industry).
So it's true that roughly 3 out 4 women in the general population have been abused as children?

I know a few girls I've worked with over the last couple of years fall into the 76%, but most do not. I know far more women in my civvie life that were sexually abused than there are women in my SP side of life.
Streetwalkers are more likely to fall into the abused category, but most of the business women with their own locations/websites/phone numbers/etc. are just that, business women. They are no more or less likely to have been abused as a child than any other woman out there. The survey was likely taken in a bias manner and the results reported in such a way as to cast more shadow on the industry.

Does anybody have a link to the original study? A quick read through it would tell us right away what sort of sampling they did to come up with this number. If they polled street prostitutes I would not be surprised. The women who wind up as street prostitutes likely come from broken homes and may have fled from those homes at a young age. They are often women with histories of drug and alcohol abuse, which is something else associated with sexual abuse as a child. Street prostitution really ought not to be considered together with upscale escorts--it's a whole different issue.
If it was a survey of upscale outcall escorts I would be shocked--my expectation would be that the rate of a history of abuse among outcall escorts would be similar to the general population. (Which is probably still too high, but nothing specific to being an outcall escort.)

Some studies of abuse & sexual violence go overboard, I recall one of sexual violence that basically included rude comments as a violent act.
These are problems throughout society, we should look to providing care for the victims and consider gelding the guilty

The anti-prostitution industry is fond of making up numbers, and sensationalism tends to be the rule with reports about child sexual abuse as well; for a statistic involving both categories, you definitely need to find out what the source is and what their methodology was.

another reason is the Father figure in the girls life. if he was absent, a poor one, or a dominant one that was hard to please, it can play a role as well in a girl seeking out the approval of men..... and the best way to achieve that is sexual gratification. it is satisfying for them to please a man..and at the same time..it may be her way of getting back at her FATHER!
This happens with young teenage girls as well...who may not necessarily do it for money..but are promiscuous just the same...Prostitutes etc have just advanced slightly, having figured out they can make money!
