How many times a year do you go to the movies

Between downloading and big screen tv's how many times do you actually go to the theatre to watch a movie. I'm aware cost is a factor as well

The last 3 years I've seen the last Batman, Avatar and Inception

The last movie that I saw in a theatre was Kill Bill II, so it's been a while. I prefer to watch films at home, far from the madding crowds.

I used to go more often but I got tired of all the jerkoffs talking during the movie amongst other things.

I used to go a lot but the past couple of years no, mainly because with a big screen HD TV I watch everything on either Movie Network/HBO or on DVD/BlueRay, or by download. It is much easier to watch what I want when I want, and be able to pause or just stop watching it if it is junk.

I only go to the movie theatres to see things like SciFi that look better on the big screen.

I still enjoy sneaking out to a weekday matinée. I go by myself every couple of months, just to disappear for a while. It's a nice escape.

No. They don't show the films like they used to. "1001 Erotic Nights" was my debut.

I go more than 10 times due to film club, film festival and just new movies that I prefer to watch on the big screen. I suppose it's easier for me as I'm single with no dependants, and it's a good reason to go out with friends but I've gone to movies alone, particularly indy theatres like The Kingsway.

However, I don't go as often as I used to. I haven't been to my film club in months. I only saw a spate of movies prior to the Oscars but infrequently before then.

I used to go to the movies quite a bit more frequently, but have generally avoided theatres as of lately, due to lack of anything that interests me to simple issues of time due to my busy schedule at work. I tend to rent out DVDs of various films (the home theatre option).

One thing I might consider this year is to attend the Toronto International Film Festival and check out some of the independent or foreign films (usually the most interesting films tend to fall in these categories).
