An absolutely gorgeous woman with talent and grace in her heyday. May she rest in peace.
Too bad she let it all go to pot and her flakiness ruled in the end. If not for this, she'd be remembered on the same level as Greta Garbo, Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. Not quite in that league but she certainly earned her place.

I can't say that I agree. She certainly outshines Grace Kelly as an actress. She is one of the few remaining Hollywood legends that were built up and promoted under the studio contract system. Like Micky Rooney and Natalie Woods, she successfully made the transition from a child star.

A very interesting and complex woman whose like I don't think we will see again. I echo the comments about AIDS research. She was certainly one of the first name celebritites support that charity (and long before it became fashionable). to RIP Liz.

Taylor will be remembered both for her marvellous screen presence ... and for drawing attention to the AIDs crisis.
She is a legend, Don, and rightly so.
Too bad she was hounded by paparazzi and had every blemish exposed publicly in ways that Garbo and Hepburn escaped. Grace Kelly, like Marilyn, will remain forever young because of untimely death.
