You make it sound like Bruce Lee is only good in movies, lol. You need to get your facts about Bruce first. Start with Wikipedia, and you will see Chuck Norris was actually one of Bruce Lee's students. Bruce was light years ahead of Chuck. Look at how many ppl training MMA now (decades after he started). Bruce was also very strong and extremely fast (in real life). Bruce was not big, but he was physically strong with unbelievable strength (he did things heavyweights couldn't do) and he was so fast on camera that a director had to actually slow it down (check his documentaries if you don't believe me). So bruce is the real deal and "the one and only". So your comment was a joke. Bruce Lee was an actual street fighter as well, he would kill Chuck in a few seconds.
If Bruce wanted to kill Chuck it would be over quickly but if he wanted to subdue Chuck and get him to surrender it would probably last a couple of minutes.

Ah those days of the "kickup". I remember everyone walking tall and adrenaline filled and ready for a fight as they walked amongst the crowds exiting the cinema.

My favorites were off course Bruce Lee(always the good guy) followed by Bolo Yeung(always the bad guy jumping over 2 storeyed houses and knocking out zebu cows with one chop to the head) and Silver Fox.

Always liked the so called adult scenes of the nude Asian women or all dressed in see thru lingerie with their hairy meows and their small areolaed titties in some of the movies.

Bruce Lee plus the car was the reason to watch The Green Hornet.

So wrong. They trained together. Chuck was a well established champion before he met Bruce

So true. But the same was said about Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and Tony Jaa.

So here's the real joke. I placed it in bold with the other joker.

Fact: Chuck Norris was the Professional Middleweight Karate Champion of the World
Fact: He was the Champion for six consecutive years
Fact: He had the most tournament wins of that year, and was named the Fighter of the Year

So if anyone thinks that Chuck Norris would be a pushover is caught up in the legend of Bruce Lee and not the real facts. Sorry to burst your bubble.
You are like some who just like to ignore the fact and say they trained together, sure whatever. Like I said you can check documentaries or wikipedia. If you check Bruce lee on wikipedia at the bottom of the page you will see the truth that Chuck was one of his students. So I have proof, how can you say what I said was incorrect? And why bother listing what Chuck did, I dont care about his wins over useless opponents (useless karate style fighters), it does not change a thing. So what he did good in a useless martial art style. lol. Someone was quoted as saying "getting kicked by Bruce was like getting hit by a car", that's how powerful he was.

And burst of what bubble? YOU think u did that, haha. You are the ONLY one on here thinking he would of beaten bruce. In fact, I have read too many comments by users (unanimously) from other online theads not just this forum who agrees bruce would kill chuck. There are many who agrees with me so good luck changing ppl's view, hahaha. Anyways, there is no point arguing with you, waste of time. Im out, later.

Bruce Lee was awesome and famous due to the fact that the characters he played in the movies were "underdogs", "nationalistic" in nature, meaning he replaced the then stereotype of the Chinese men, known as "the sick men of Asia" because of Opium wars and subsequent unequal treaties after the "Gwai Lo" finished ransacking China.

Speaking of Kung Fu/wǔshù, this is embarrassing,

Perhaps Thai Kickboxing and Krav Maga make more sense in practical situation compared to wǔshù.

He initially trained in Wing Chun (which helped his punching speed dramatically) then he created his own method, which was Jeet Kune Do (The Way of the Intercepting Fist). Which is very practical. MMA fighters today incorporate useful techniques just like what bruce preached.

Sure but how many of those Jeet Kune Do practitioners are foreign born Chinese??

BTW, when I say practicality, I really mean martial arts that are tested in CQB and if I could recall, Krav Maga was "proven" all the time.

And for Jackie Chan. He is a disgrace and an ass kisser to the Mandarin speaking rulers in Beijing.

Bruce Lee in Longstreet - The Way of the Intercepting Fist Some of you guys might remember this show with James Franciscus. This clip doesn't contain the memorable opening fight scene but they still are pretty good.

How can I get my hands on watching this full episode? For years I've wanted to get a copy of this and still no luck!

No doubt they are great athletes but how effective are their techiques in a real life fight?
Exactly.

As mentioned, so far Krav Maga practitioners are proven to be effective in real life and death situations since 1948. That's not because they want to but they have to.

I'm talking about Bruce lee not anyone else, buddy. And bruce had real fights (he knocked out three-time champion British boxer Gary Elms and also knocked out a black belt karate guy in 11 seconds in a full contact match).

Fair enough. Bruce was second to none among the Chinese martial artist. Maybe Jet Li comes close and he seems to be a real deal.

BTW, I am sure you are fully aware the quality or lack of one among the Chinese martial arts practitioners are quite common. ;)

You have to keep in mind the purpose of that martial art. Some train for demonstration and not combat, which is the purpose of it tho. I believe you mentioned wushu is not practical (that is what i agree to an extent, but not what you may think tho. I agree you can't easily use what you have learned, but doesn't mean it is not deadly when applied.) These wushu practitioners can be very deadly, they practice sword fighting as well and are extremely quick (they can slice your throat and other parts of your body in seconds). They obviously can't have a one on one combat (therefore, doesn't seem practical) because someone will died very quickly, literally. They are no joke, you can't tell me one of these ppl in the video can not end your life with their sword fighting skills like that. And these ppl are not even the best, some in the video are just kids.

Are you saying these people carry swords all the time, even shopping??

Again no disrespect to their skills but they are no match to this situation.

WRT wushu training, believe it or not, they are pretty much a big business as dozens of for-profit institutions/schools specialized in martial arts located around Song Shan in Henan province. Song Shan is home to the Shaolin Temple.

Needless to say, boys and few girls all over the country came to these "institutions" and they are trained like new commodities coming out of the assembly line. Time will tell whether they cut the grade.

Oh, another tidbit, those students over there never end classes and leave the buildings at the same time. This is done to prevent provocation and street fighting between the competitive institutions. ;)

What are you talking about carrying a sword around? I did agree with you and said that it's not practical in a sense that you "can't easily use what you have learned," meaning basically what you just said, you can't walk around with a sword and use it. But it's not like you can walk around and bust out your fighting skills on someone anyways, you will get charged regardless. What I was saying is that wushu is an effective method, and the practitioners are highly skilled, their techniques are extremely deadly (meaning their sword techniques) and their speed is unbelievable, they just can't display their combat skills by chopping some guy's head off or chopping ppl in pieces. So DON'T SAY THE QUALITY IS NOT THERE for the chinese practitioners, coz it's far from the truth (especially the dude @1:17 and again @ 1:43 into the video). Again some in the video are just kids, so no need to mention the better ones and what they are capable of. And why talk about a situation which involves a gun, this thread is about Bruce lee and martial arts right? If you're gonna talk about a use of a gun than why bother with this thead.

There's one You Tube clip that goes on for 9+ minutes but it ONLY includes part of the very beginning which is what I really wanted to see because that was the most vivid and coolest part of the movie. I recall Bruce Lee saves Longstreet's ass in a dark alley when he high kicks 3 or 4 guys so fast, they don't even know what hit them. So fucking cool.
