The question is entirely is she going to be styled "Queen" and called "Your Majesty" and is she going to be crowned as such during the Coronation.

As a matter of law and custom there is no question that the wife of the King is the Queen Consort.

But the real question is, if she will outlive Liz. Remember that untold millions of people (including most terbites, it would appear) pray for a long life for Liz in church every sunday in Canada, the UK, Australia, the Falklands, Ascension Island and God only knows where else. I don't think many people pray for a long life for Camilla, so it would appear that she is royally screwed.(pun intended)

But you know full well, that nobody prays for the american president. Queen Elizabeth is prayed for by every churchgoer in the UK, Canada, Australia, and so on. If she does not live to well over 100 years, I think we have to question the validity of the anglican religion. For crying out loud, even in the danish church on Finch avenue, where all the danish au pair girls come on sunday, they pray for a long life of Queen Elizabeth.

I think your last point hits it square on. There are many examples where, no matter what the second wife/mother does, she'll never measure up, right or wrong and some will never let it go.

Yes, yes and yes.

Those who dislike her do so for a number of reasons principle among them being that they see the late Princess of Wales as having been a "wronged woman" an "angel sent down to earth" who was completely without fault. Wronged she was, but certainly with plenty of problems of her own and although pretty no angel.

But, hence if Diana was an "angel" therefore Camilla must be the Devil incarnate and how dare such a woman be anointed Queen. Of course there are a number of ironic factors in all of this: a major thrust of our Lord's earthly ministry was forgiveness of sinners. Many of those so upset about this and the very idea of such a woman being Queen, never darken the door of their parish church, but do they ever know how to be moralistic.

All of this has little to do with reality - but since when did that ever stop prejudice.

Camilla WILL be Queen. The question is whether or not she will use that title, or stick with Duchess of Cornwall.
