Are you in a time warp ?
Earlier this morning, he posted an analysis of the Leafs win in Pittsburgh, which was their third game. They have now played 8.

For first round I'd go with Phillies , Giants, Rangers, Yankees.
In the second round I like Phils over Giants and Rangers over Yankees.
I'm 5 for 6 in my predictions so far. Not bad considering all the upsets.
For the World Series I'm cheering for Texas; so that's who I'll go with.

Well, who would have expected that from Cliff Lee and Tim Lincecum? Certainly not me. Surprisingly the Giants had a big game offensively tonight plus the Giants played some great defense while the Rangers made several miscues. Gotta give credit to Uribe who not only had the 3-run HR but also made by my count at least 3 solid defensive plays. He started the DP to end the 1st, he made another terrific defensive play in the 2nd to save a run. On that Andrus sac-fly to CF Lee went to 3B on the throw home from Torres, Posey tried to throw Lee out at 3B but the throw was errant and Uribe made a great play to catch that ball and save a run. Otherwise Lee might have scored on an E2. And thenin the 5th Uribe made another good defensive play on the ground ball from Young. Few good defensive plays from Renteria and a good defensive play from Huff as well. Vlade was a defensive liability with a couple of miscues out in RF. Texas did not play well defensively at all in this game.

Rick Sutcliffe might have a heart attack the way he is ranting on Ron Washington. Not sure if Ron went back to the nose candy earlier tonight.

San Fran has put this one away for a 2-0 lead heading to Texas.

Come on Texas, stay up for a while. Sutcliffe is still ranting and raving about Washington.

Is this really the 2 best teams in MLB. Rangers are totally pathetic and Giants are a collection of nobodies. Looks like the nobodies are going to sweep it in 4.

Another game where the Giants defense impressed. Several good defensive plays in this game from Uribe, Ross, Schierholtz. Uribe has definitely been big for the Giants in the postseason. He is getting it done in every manner possible, with the bat, with the glove, with heady base running. Yesterday Lee didnt pitch well and tonight the Rangers wasted a good performance from Wilson. Wilson just made that one mistake with the high fastball to Renteria. That 8th inning turned into a comedy. I was laughing seeing Holland and Lowe struggle to find the strike zone. I think at one point they had thrown something like 11 consecutive balls or something. Ridiculous. The Ranger bullpen had already walked two batters with the bases loaded and then they almost walked another run in. Lowe fell behind 3-0 on Renteria but then fought back to a full-count and Renteria hit a 2 RBI single. Uribe & Renteria have been stars thus far though in this series getting it done with the bat and glove. The Rangers uncharacteristically havent been manufacturing runs well. In the 5th Kinsler hit a lead-off double and then Murphy lined out to SS. If he hits a ground ball to the right side it at least would have been a productive out and would have put the Rangers in a position to score a run without a base hit. And then in the 6th another missed opportunity for the Rangers. Usually the Rangers have cashed in on their opportunities this post season. Tonight they didnt.

I think if you took a closer look at the San Francisco Nobodies they were 21-5 in September with an opponents era of around 1.0. You could call that peaking at the right time.

The Rangers win tonight but some questionable management of the bullpen by Ron Washington again. Torres hits the solo HR off of Lewis to make it a 2-run game (4-2) and then Sanchez hits a loud out to LF and Washington didnt bring in the lefty Oliver to pitch to Huff. Lewis hits Huff to bring the tying run to the plate in Posey and Washington brings in O'Day. Seems to me that if the opposition has the tying run at the plate dont you want to have Feliz in the game? If you bring in Oliver to pitch to Huff, then Feliz could have been warming up at the same time and pitched to Feliz had Huff gotten on base. That way at a critical point of the game your relying on Feliz instead of O'Day which is what you'd rather have. Gotta say though the Giants have played tremendous defense in this series though.

I wanted a sweep, if only so that there would be no baseball in November.

As it is, it doesn't really matter to me.

Go Giants.

President George H. Bush is starting to show his age. I guess time catches up to all of us eventually. The elder Bush actually saw combat in the Pacific during WW II as an 18 year old.

The Rangers are not going with Lee in a somewhat questionable decision, but its hard to justify coming back with someone on short rest after he got bombed the prior game.

He should be available for at least a couple of innings in game seven out of the pen -- if they make it.

Bochy makes a big mistake by leaving Burrell who has struck out in 50% of his AB`s, in a runner at third less then two outs siutation. One of the worst managerial calls I have seen in a long time given the pitchers in the game.

Then the Giants luck out with a three run home run by Renteria.
