it is very easy to follow.
I know lots of people who can sit down and enjoy a game, and have no idea of what the formation is for either team, the role of positions, the characteristics and abilities of individual players and how the other side acts to counter those things. Sure you can follow the game, but if you don't understand those things, I don't think it's possible to really appreciate it fully. In soccer, the way these things come together make (for me at least), even a 0-0 draw a potentially fascinating match. Sometimes those are especially so. What's special about soccer is that each nation brings its own brand and approach to all of the foregoing. What we saw today with Germany is a crystal clear example of that. No other country could wage an attack just like that.

A great way to solve Canada immigration problem is to ban all applicants who say the like soccer.

That will not work, as Canada's problem is that there are not enough immigrants.

Dont get me wrong I grew up playing just about every sport you can think of. I respect soccer as a sport I just find it too slow for me to hold my interest. For some reason the only team I can watch is Brazil. IMO they are pretty to watch.

To me it is totally amazing that so many here say that soccer is too slow. It must be because they only look at the player with the ball, and not at the other 19 players, who are moving tactically all the time. That is what wins soccer games, the positioning of players who does not (yet) have the ball.

Wow you can watch Billy Bob and Jimbo make left turns for 4 hours and you can't appreciate the schooling the Germans gave the Aussies???? I would say head to a bar or pub and join a crowd but I'm starting to think just forget it.
