BTW, put a fork in the Sens they are cooked, tied, and fried.
Baring a complete collapse by the Pens I'm afraid you are right.

The Sens just are not deep enough talent wise to compete with Pittsburg.

Elliot has played like a backup and Leclaire well he's been terrible all year.

I swear your hatred for Alfie borders on obsessive compulsive.

There are treatment options available just consult your family physician.

I love how Ironhead pokes his idiot head into the mix only after it goes 3-1.
Hey IronMoron.........where were all your predictions and idiot comments over the last week when it was close?
I dont agree with that. It's just that this series was such a gross mismatch that most people were neither interested nor bothered to comment on it. Even without the injuries, the Penguins would have been overwhelming favourites. With the injuries factored in, it was obvious there was no way the Senators could win the series - it was only possible for the Penguins to utterly give it away.

The Sens made an admirable effort to stay with them the first two games - although if Game 1 went another 6 or 7 minutes I think the Pens would have won that one too - but then the series unfolded the only way it could. If the Pens don't finish it tonight, they'll finish it in game 6.

And the Sens survive to force a sixth game back in Ottawa.

Leclaire comes up huge. Have to admit I never saw that coming.

I thought foligno played an excellent game for the Sens.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Peter Regin played very well for the Senators, I thought he was their best player tonight (along with LeClaire) .

Volchenkov is a horse. ELEVEN blocked shots tonight. Next highest was Karlsson with 5, no Penguin had more than 2 !!!

Ironhead this and Ironhead that, followed by Ironmoron ... lol.

Keep firing guys ...

Volchankov, jeez that guy must wear ice packs all over between games.
It looked for awhile like young Karlsson had coughed up the series.
LaClaire really come to play. Looking for that next contract. I think he might get it ... let see what happens Saturday night.
Spezza I thought played well.
Sutton was good tonight, better then game four. Seems to me that his hit in game three(?) shook him up more then the player he hit, mentally I mean.
The Clown was almost invisible tonight.

Malkin was cranking it up tonight. I was not really noticing him earlier in the series.
Crosby was great again.
Staal was a threat all game, damn I wish he would have scored.
Fleury was lights out. Hope he brings it again Saturday night.

Okay, CementHead.... is that better ?

Leclaire is signed through the 2010-11 season, so last night really won't affect contract negotiations tremendously.
Karlsson had the 2nd most ice time of any skater on either team last night.
It seems his coach has more faith in him, than a cementhead does.

Daniel Alfredsson had 4 blocked shots, an assist, and had more playing time than any other Senator skater, except Matt Cullen, and 2 defencemen (Phillips & Karlsson) . The Senators could use more invisible men like him.

Fleury had a decent game, hardly spectacular, only a .909 save percentage .

How's your crush on Alfie going these days ? :D

Cementhead is definitely good but I prefer platehead myself.

Karlsson drives me nuts. He can look awesome one moment then look like he belongs in junior the next. What did he end up with 40 mins of ice time, incredible for a rookie.

Alfie is Alfie. Plays hard every night and is a complete two way player. Plus he is doing this all with a pretty banged up shoulder.

Leclaire is just going to have out play Fleury for the Sens to win this . there is no way around that fact.

Karlsson really looks his age sometimes. Too many puck giveaways. Too many unecessary turnovers. But his upside is tremendous.

As for Daniel - don't try to change a Leaf fans mind about him. Just look how they boo him like trained seals when he touches the puck vs the Leafs simply over his joke years ago pretending to throw his stick like his good buddy Sundin did.

Leclaire could possibly mend all fences with the Sens and their fans if he steals this series from gods gift to hockey Sidney Crosby. I swear Glen Healy would love to give Crosby a blowjob.

Lecaire was great and it was another brave and gritty prformance by the Senators. I still maintain that the series is not really in their hands, just as the Habs and Avs series isn;t really in their hands. It will take a major choke/meltdown job by the other team for an upset to happen.

I believe the Caps & the Sharks have choke potential in them. I don't believe the Pens will choke or produce a non-effort.

But yeah, the Pens do seem to take the odd game for granted. A bit of a " C'mon give up already, you know you can't win " mentality and impatience - not nearrly as bad as the Sharks of the past few years or the '03 & '04 versions of the RedWings, Stars, Flyers & Avs when those old fat cats seemed totally incredulous to being defied.

Hwever, when a series is 3-1, the team the HAS TO win game 5 usually does. Tha held true in 3 of the 4 series that were 3-1 this week. We'll find out on the weekend who's on form to close the show.

Child please.

Hockey is a team game. Many great players have failed to win the Stanley Cup.

You are mistaken though, to describe either Mats Sundin or Daniel Alfredsson as unable to rise to occasion.

Both players own an Olympic Gold Medal, Aflie also has 2 Silver, and 2 Bronze World Championship medals.
Mats also 3 World Championship Gold Medals, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze.

It seems to me, these two men are players able to rise to whatever level is required.

Don't paint us all with the same brusth there, dj.

I'm a Toronto Maple Leaf fan. I regard Daniel Alfredsson with the highest respect. Terrific hockey player, great leader, and class act.

I was going to post the same thing. The Clark for Sundin trade was pretty shrewd in my opinion.

Apologies. I was talking about the "trained seals" only. You are exempt sir if you don't drink the KoolAid at Leaf games.

I would also say Daniel is a class act - the last of the real team guys - will start and end his career with the team and the city loves.
Much like like Mats Sundin did. Nothing but respect for Sundin from this Sens fan.
