The mighty Senators always beat the 'don't have a clue' Sabres. The Sabres always beat the Leafs. The Leafs always beat the Senators. One wonders whether the hockey gods have a plan. It is said that there is a totally different animal come playoff time. We shall see if the hockey gods agree. Incidentally, that girl in the right of your sig pic has an amazingly long and thick tongue!!! LOL!!!Sens just have their number.
Since October 7, 2008 the Leafs and Senators have played 20 games to date. The Leafs always beat the Senators!
Very well, please interpret 'always' as majority of the time if that makes you happier. LOL!!!Since October 7, 2008 the Leafs and Senators have played 20 games to date.
Leafs 12 wins
Senators 8 wins
8 of those games either went to OT or SO.
Don't really agree about always beating the Seantors statement.
More like a solid rivalry to me.
Very well, a little elaboration here. It is reasonable to assume the mighty Senators still want to clinch the Northeast Division and hope the Sabres cannot. If the Senators become hot from now on and win all remaining 6 games, they will have 99 points to end the season. The Sabres has 94 points now and if they win 3 more games or secure 6 more points (for example, win two games and two overtime loss) for the total of 100 points, they will clinch the Northeast Division. In terms of playoff positioning, the Sabres is the third seed, looking to improve to become the second seed. The Senators are now the fifth seed and can become the third seed if the Sabres falters. This also assumes teams such as Philly, Montreal, and Boston cannot catch both the senators and the Sabres. It is probably in the mighty Senators' prayers that they play the inconsistent and spineless Sabres in the playoffs. Given that they
seemed firmly entrenched as the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference, which means they would play either the Penguins or the Devils, which means the chance of first round exit will be a lot higher.
Shhhh....be nice. The hockey gods may say no and make the mighty Senators lose all remaining games to those lowly teams. Then first tee off time this spring again for the Sens as well. LOL!!!This all being said, the important point is the senators are IN the playoffs, and guess who has the first tee off time this spring AGAIN.
The Senators managed to become hot again at the right time. Beating the top seed Capitals is a very good sign for them indeed. It also exposed the Capitals' weakness in goaltending. Alfredsson and Spezza are elite forwards and still have some years left in them. Elliot the goalie is beatable when the opposing teams can figure him out. GM Murray had done what he could to fortify the team for a long run in the playoffs. The mighty Senators now have a relatively easy remaining five games and should be able to win them all. Yet no one knows the X-factor. At any given day, any team can beat any other team. So sit back and enjoy the games.I'm a sens fan but also realistic.
Their season is all smoke and mirrors.
Their 11 games above .500 but have allowed 11 more goals against than scored.
They rely to much on alfredsson who at 37 has seen his best days.
Elliott is now their number one goalie but is very steaky at best.
The sens could very well be out in the first round or they could surprise.
Should be interesting
I wish it was but as of yet they have not guarateed themselves a playoff spot. And the playoff spot was secured last night as the Sens beat the Caps for the 3rd time this year out of 4 match ups.
A little premature with your ejaculation there fella! And the playoff spot was secured last night as the Sens beat the Caps for the 3rd time this year out of 4 match ups.
No team can beat the mighty Senators other than the mighty Senators themselves. They can be their worst enemies.Sens have been very hot this year at times - 11 game win streak, 6 game win streak, 7 game win streak
THEN...........
Sens have been very cold this year at times - 7 game losing streak, 6 game losing streak, 6 game losing streak
It seems to be feast or famine for the Sens this year
If they get hot they'll be trouble for anybody
If they get cold they could lose a 4 game series massively quickly
We'll see - looks like the Devils first!
So Daniel Alfredsson was honored tonight by Ottawa that he played over 1000 games all for the mighty Senators. Even the Prime Minister showed up for the festivities. But Alfie's team certainly did not want to give him the win by losing 5 to 2 to their favorite whipping boys, the headless Buffalo 'Chicken Wing' Sabres. Amazing they would let Vanek alone to score 4 goals. May be the mighty Senators thought they want to celebrate Vanek's scoring prowess instead of Alfie's. LOL.Interesting game tonight between the mighty Senators and Buffalo Sabres in Ottawa. We shall see who has more character and who wants the game more. Should be a good game unless if either one of them or both lay an egg. LOL!!!
