One of the reasons I don't partake in street action is that many of the girls are coerced into the trade. In Canada, we have plenty of options with women who want to be in the trade, so there is no reason to be with someone who has been coerced into the trade. Technically though, you would be helping her by seeing her because she would have to make a certain amount of money before the guys she was trafficked by would set her free. So dammed if you do, and dammed if you don't.
Thankfully that doesn't happen very often at Incalls in the Toronto area, as I've been to plenty and only found one which was shady in my time hobbying
I'd rather deal with happy people, be they waitresses, cab drivers or SPs. That is why I leave tips and don't book cheap SPs.

Good thread, Fuji. Glad to see the poll results saying no. But how about complicating it a bit. Who has or would hobby in South East Asia, where it's well known SP's are basically indentured slaves? I would answer no to each, for just that reason.

Some escorts are economic slaves to the industry, it's the only way for them to pay the bills while they're raising a kid after the father took off.

I agree, so long as it is voluntary and they have a good attitude about it. Many people end up having to make choices that they otherwise wish they didn't have to. Your choice may be become an escort or work at minimum wage, that doesn't mean that I wouldn't say if you are comfortable with it become an escort but use the money to better yourself so you do have other choices. However, if you feel you are a prisoner NO - you should work at McDonalds instead.
I think we are all economic slaves to some degree..we may not like what we do, but we do it for money, and we don't have skills in other areas.

As Brill pointed out the study Fuji cites was heavy on street trade and the lower end of the economic spectrum rather than escorts. In London this means that it likely did heavily touch upon trafficked women particularly from Moldova. Also, as Gen pointed out the study itself has an altogether typical anti-prostitution bias.
