Been following the fellow that got denied going to the the US. They seem to be tightening security again in wake of the attempted plane bombing.

I went to the Seneca casino in Niagara falls NY. I took one of those buses that make daily trips to the casinos. We arrived at the Rainbow bridge border and usually a customs officer comes on board and checks every bodies passport or collects them and scans them in the office. We were all ordered to get off the bus and stand in line as they scan and verify all passports. 3 agents working, 1 agent, all he asked was are you Canadian and off you go. The 2nd one was asking how much money are you bringing. And the third was an ass. I'm in my late 20's and asked more then others lol.

Are you Canadian? yes
where you going? for how long?
what do you do for a living? currently unemployed
how much money do you have on you? about 100 bucks
you have 100 bucks on you and your unemployed? yes that's right
how is that possible? I save my money lol
Have you been arrested? nope,
Are you sure? yes
Are you really sure? yes
Even for the slightest thing? yes, never been arrested
Are you 100 percent sure? yes

ok off you go. When we get back to enter Canada, no questions asked, show them the passport and off we go.
Thats because you are not entering a FOREIGN COUNTRY on the way back into Canada.

You should tell them you work in Canada. If they say what profession, say you work for your dads business. The reason for this is that there is a law that makes sure you will not be a burden on their system, or take up welfare while in their country. Since you said you have a 100 bucks it's good, but still..I'd be worried if I was an customs officer.

Also there is a law stating that you every non-immigrant entering has the intension to immigrate, ie take up residence. I know its messed, but its the law. So....by stating that you have a job, your proving that your coming home, and dont have the intension to immigrate.

Coming home, they will never ask much questions. This goes for whatever country of citizenship you have, your home country will always let u in.

too right! I travelled for business for 2 years straight (home maybe a month over the 2 years) and I met someone on the road who had a beach house in new Hampshire. He always said I was welcome anytime so when I quit the travelling job I rang him up and said "want a house guest for a week or so"? Sure come on down!

So I go to the airport and catch my flight and when I say the purpose of my visit is "vacation" red flags go DING DING DING. All your previous trips were for business? Oh I quit that fricken job, too much travelling...

So, off I go to secondary inspection. After about 2 hrs an immigration inspector I got more often than not notices me there and says "what are YOU doing here"? I told him. 2 minutes later I'm in the interview room and they're asking me what guarantee I can give them that I'm not going down for work....Luckily I had a job interview lined up the week I got back and dialed the number on my cell phone and told them to ask for Mr X...They actually DID. So Mr X confirms that I have an appointment scheduled with him and off I go.....

I'm sick of customs thinking they should check peoples manners / morals. Their job is to protect the border.

Customs--make that Home land security, whatever has lost all my little respect I had to them. This incident on Xmas day takes the cake.

The guys father (who is a well respect citizen over in Nigerian) went to the US embassy saying his son might be out to harm the USA and look what happens, NOTHING!

Now customs has all these BS rules (which they keep changing) no going to the bathroom the last hour in a long overseas filght..well what if somebody gets sick on the plane-very common on long filghts ..oh well we did not think of that, duh. OK maybe a person can go to the bathroom at anytime, use your judgment they go telling the airlines today.

This is 8 YEARS after 9/11 and billions of dollars spend beefing up airports across the world.

This guy who almost blew the plane up had no luggage and paid cash, yet was just allowed to broad the plane without even a second look--even after his well to do father warned the USA embassy.

But us guys going to have a "good time" customs feels they should try to stop them.

Customs is a joke, they slip up time after time--look at all the weapons/ drugs that slip across the border. Yet 'Joe 6 Pack" going out for a "good time" needs to explain that he is OK and isn't "that bad of a guy" to get across either border.

I had the same BS on the US N.Y. border at the Rainbow bridge...you working, nope not at this time...me is a US citizen going to the State Park to checkout the Falls close up while on Holiday in Niagara Fall.

So on to have you ever been arrested, I go no. He asks again, I go no again. Ever, ever, ever...well I'm tick now, so I switch to "not that I can recall officer". Asks again, I give same answer. This goes on for a bit longer.

He then starts talking down to me like I'm stupid.....So you come all this ways by yourself to just look at the Falls? I go, YEAH...and then add, well I did go to Fort Erie to the horse Racing track, seen the Fort there too. There is the Casino here also...Windsor stinks, me don't like that place so much I go over here to Niagara Falls.

I know darn well he thinks I'm "whoring around too" :p but of course just went along with his little game of making me look dumb.

After like 10 mins of his BS at the booth, he takes a sigh and asks me to pop the trunk and hand me the car keys. Looks in my trunk for a min and slams it shut, hands me back my keys and passport saying I can go. I give him a big thank you and took my sweet ass time, placing my passport away. Finding the right key to place in the ignition to start the car. SLOWLY creep out from the booth and slowly head to the N.Y. State Park...screw you asshole, I said to myself.

La la land
yes there is, most of the waitress are hot. Tight black shorts on with nylons. Low cut red top. Most of the waitresses there like to show, that how they make the tips
SO this is not the Casino standard dress code. so The waitress chooses this outfit for the money?

if the above is true I thought for a long time the Us was very chauvinistic towards woman.

Yeah yeah, I know they can strip search you, all that but its different officers and if they think you really could careless what happens they don't pull it unless you are a "jerk"

At least it hasn't happen yet to me but if it does oh well, I had bad traffic accidents and surgeries...getting strip search at the border would be a cakewalk compare to being helpless for 2 weeks from a high speed wreck I went though when I was a " young punk"....I think it shows in my domineer talking with them.

You act scare of them, then they have the upper hand.

Some but not all US Custom agents are real dickheads! Lately we even have more questions to answer returning to the USA than when entering Canada. This latest airline incident will no doubt get some of these G Gordon Liddy types all fired up to be more suspicious/paranoid than ever!....

Yeah, seems like some ladies thou are all talk and no action. They go dressing like a "slut" and go sweet talking to you and some guys just go flocking their money over to them :p

But go move up on them and see how much fun most really are.

Hey I got no gripes about them protecting their border from weapons, drugs, lowlifes looking to steal, scam people.

Its when they see you are in their eyes, flush with cash and at a nice hotel by yourself and they believe you are in their eyes, unmoral so they go hassling you, that ticks me off.

Who are they to go judge you. I treat the ladies great and they seem to enjoy their time with me and are happy I decided to see them. I'm un married and never fathered a child, so they can keep their judgement BS and just do their job which is to protect the border.

Most agents are OK, some are really cool too.

On the Detroit side coming back from Toronto and the Falls some old guy with white hair once just ask me if I had a good time, I go "yep", he then just asked a few basic questions which I said no to and he let me right on pass in undrer a min.

Those crew cut haircut or blad headed young "punks" can be another story thou.

Probably your smartass attitude is what flagged you, not your vacation purpose.
