South America

There are so many South Americans in Europe that Brazil and Argentina host most of their Friendlies (exhibition games) in Europe to avoid the long travel for their players. Also, bear in mind that the Andes Mountains are on the west side of South America so the only countries that benefit are Ecuador, Bolivia and Chile. Altitude is of no benefit to Brazil or Argentina.
The only teams in SA to play in altitude are Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia:
La Paz at 3600m, Quito at 2850m, Bogota at 2650m.

Most teams play home games in there capital cities so altitude in countries like Chile, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Venezula, Uruguay, Paraguay, have no effect.

See you in South Africa! Chile's #1 Fan~cochino

Chile...Columbia...whatever:D

Just kidding...actually I became a fan of Chile at the U20 in Canada a couple
years ago when I watched a couple of their games. Can you provide an update of some Chile's players from that tourney, in particular Vidangossy and Vidal.

Vidal is a memeber of the team but Vidangossy is not... also Alexis Sanchez usually is starting striker...however he just had hernia surgery playing with Udinese in Italy.

Not sure if toselli, the goalie of the tourney has been called...will check on it.

Agreed, but they can beat any of those two, re read my post, in a 30 day period...No Chance:D
Nonsense, will they win probably not but can they win absolutely. When you are ranked in the top 10 in the world you absolutely can win any TWO games.

If they qualify, Chile will have a very good team in South Africa. Juan Vargas is having an excellent season with Fiorentina and Sanchez should be fit again by June. They will be a team that no one will want to face. ManU want Vargas to move to Old Trafford...with the massive debt load they are carrying I have no idea where the money is coming from?

Finally I'm disgusted by the amount of chirping United have done since their loss to Chelsea. Even Jon Evans, who should keep his mouth shut, is getting in on the farce. He should have been red-carded and suspended for five matches for his kick on Drogba. Had it been the other way around, the cacaphony would have been deafening.

For behaving like a bunch of cry-babies on a temper tantrum Manchester United deserve this:

ugh the poor Bosnians hitting the post 3 times today against the Portuguese was bad enough but at least they are only down 1-0 and back home in Zenica they will be tough.

Anyone catch any of that crazy Egypt-Algeria game?? needing 2 goals to force a single game playoff, the Egyptians score the second in the 5th of the 6 allowed minutes, no rooting interest here myself but just thought it was a wild one.

I'm sorry I missed that Egypt/Algeria game. Wanted to see if the violence would continue. ;)

We dominated the game today, but I admit were lucky to get a win against Bosnia. As usual, we can't finish to save our lives. Bosnia hit the bar twice, missed the net....as we like to say...nossa senhora was on our side.

The game in Bosnia will be tough. We're not there by any stretch of the imagination.

Still, there were bright signs. No Portuguese player had a really bad game today. Pepe was a monster. Nani was good, Deco had a good game, which is really important for us. We created chances, but didn't make many mistakes. If they can strike the same kind of creativity, maintain the workmanlike discipline and just maybe add some finishing...things could go our way.

Sure they can win, and I can also win the Lotto Max:D

Other than tournaments played in England, they have never beaten two decent teams in the same major tournament. That said, IMO, the only decent National teams are Spain, Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Argentina and Brazil, not necessarily in that order.

Give me Champions League any time over internationals. Most international games are crap.

Thanks for the update. Although I thought chile was equal to Argentina in the U20 in Canada, the Argentinians seem to be pushing on in Europe and on NT.

Romero, Aguerro, Di Maria, Zarate, Banega are all doing really well.

I wouldn't put France over England at this point, and are you saying you would rather watch Champions League games over World Cup games. In my opinion the mere stage of the World Cup makes the games more exciting. Also i think the odds of England winning 2 games are far greater than you winning the Lotto.

France beat England in a friendly this year, but that said, you got to be kidding. France has way more talent than England. The only thing that gives England a chance is that idiot of coach Domenech. Dunga nail d England's lack of technical skills, they can't dribble the ball
http://www.goal.com/en-india/news/1...-must-learn-how-to-dribble-brazil-coach-dunga
and he states they don't have a chance in WC.:D

The World Cup is interesting and the one game sudden death nature of the tournament creates tension. But really, there are too many Togo-Switzerland, Angola-Iran, Australia-Croatia games, and this year you get the pleasure of seeing New Zealand. Wake me up when the 1/4s start.

The same rankings that had the USA as high as 4th, yes 4th, a couple months before the last world cup. I respectfully disagree with your comments, however if you are looking for someone to place a wager if they meet, please contact me.

Big Micheal dont disparage the Kiwis; 87,000 fans packed the San Siro to watch them play last weekend. Ok, it was rugby not football and the perrenial Wooden Spoon Champs didn't embarass themselves...or the All-Blacks took it easy on them. It's a poke in the eye to the NFL, gridiron football has never drawn that many fans in Italy.

Arsenal fans must be pissed, Robin Van Persie will be out for at least six weeks with an ankle injury. He got free on a miscommunication between Zambro and Varo, and had a certain goal. Has he was in the motion of blasting the ball into the net he got hit with a thunderous tackle by Giorgio Chiellini. Unfortunately for RVP he landed akwardly, the force of the tackle brought him back up and his leg buckled. It was a totally clean tackle, no one contested it as a foul, but I'm sure that Arsene must be fuming.

LMAO Thanks.

Re van Persie, Arsenal fans are pissed, but not necessarily at Chiellini , that was a fair and WORLD CLASS tackle. We are pissed at Wenger. We netted GBP31 Mil in the last transfer window which was not adequately used to enhance the squad. And, we know, van Persie misses 3 months a year with injuries, usually getting injured during Intl duty. What we are pissed at is that we sold Adebaywhore, and although I was happy to see him go, we still needed experience to cover for him. In addition to Ade, we needed experienced cover in a couple other positions, Centre Back and Defensive MF, we are exposed in these areas. Our first 11 are great, but as you are aware, it takes a full squad to win a Championship, with RVP out, Chelsea could have the EPL sewn up before Christmas. But if a decent striker was bought because eveyone knew RvP was going to miss at least a couple months, then no probs.

I think we had this discussion before because even if no RVp, if we were stronger in other positions we can ride out the temporary loss.
IIRC, if we had chiellini, De Rossi and Frey, we would still be undefeted, may be even Invincibles II, a second undefeted season.
