If it's an Oscar contenter, I'm totally against it. Not worthy of an Oscar. But Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will push for it or they will cry the race card.

Joan Rivers just had a ton of cosmetic surgery,,,,M.J. was trying to deal with a skin disease that affects a lot of blacks....except for his nose, I think he might have done that on purpose lol.
Celebrities would have a better idea of what it is like to be accused of things, have their personal lives examined under a microscope and have the most innocent things blown way out of proportion....being judged, tried and convincted by the media is something a lot of them are familiar with. Granted some of his actions were not in his best interests and regardless of his intention made him look guilty. JMHO of course.
Those who have seen it say exactly that - you wont' be bummed out and that fractions of the film, let alone the entire thing, are well worth the admission fee.
I originally thought it would be some flimsy half-assed attempt to milk more money right after his death, but apparently the film has more meat to it.

6 hours later I did. I had to drink the British water, which gave me a 6 hour window before the toilet wouldn't let go of my behind.

I respected Jackson's musicianship (Eddie Van Halen did some of his best guitar work for him) but I like my music to have a harder edge.
As for entertainers to hang out with: you can have Frankie, Elvis and Dino - I'll take these two.

I have no idea, but you're probably right.
As for hanging out, I'd hang out with plenty of people over MJ. In fact, I probably wouldn't want to hang out with MJ at all. He was too meek, unmanly, child-like, and strange for me, on a personal level. But if I wanted to be wowed, I'd see an MJ concert.
Watching his videos in the early 80s when I was a kid was literally an event. It was like that for lots of families. People would gather around to see what things we had never seen before MJ had in store for us.
The cool thing about MJ is that his music was so extremely infectious/catchy that pop fans and hardcore metal music lovers alike had a soft spot for him.
I think Eddie Van Halen wasn't originally credited for the solo on Beat It because he didn't want to be associated with a pop music act. Ironically, Thriller would be the album that kept Van Halen's biggest release from reaching #1 that same year. That guitar solo is still mind-blowing.
Sure, he has not been back but there are folks who either were born after 1984 or came to Canada after 1984...
In any event, it seems like those of you who diss this movie because of MJ himself have not seen it and probably have no plans to see it. Anyway, this is not a post about MJ as a person but it is about the movie. If you have something to say about MJ's personality or whatever but nothing to say about this movie, pls do not hi-jack this thread and take the off-topic discussion elsewhere.

I expected nothing less. He was a genius in his craft. A true artist much unlike all these artist nowadays. His mastery and control over his music is rare and will be missed.
In terms of his mental health. I feel he should have acquired some psychological help long ago to deal with all his childhood and the pressures of being in the public eye. I did not know him of course, nor his true lifestyle, however I feel the media really can exaggerate and mislead the public as the what is really going on and what someone is really about.

These folks are incapable of separating the two. It's like they're mentally handicapped.
Multitasking and separating the two is too taxing for many of our conservatives friends who demonstrate they are not the brightest bulbs on the x-mas shrub....
I think this usually happens by default when an entertainer dies (if their existence was interesting to begin with). The subject of death is hard hitting for most people, and the media shock factor gets most people to pay attention.
A lot of people are way too busy with their own life goals. It's easy to forget about someone until something as 'final' as death happens.

The film was the No. 1 Halloween thriller domestically with a $21.3 million opening weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.
The previous weekend’s No. 1 movie, Paramount’s low-budget horror sensation “Paranormal Activity,” slipped to No. 2 with $16.5 million, lifting its total to $84.8 million.
“This Is It” raised its domestic total to $32.5 million. The movie pulled in $68.5 million overseas, including $10.4 million in Japan, $6.3 million in Germany, $5.8 million in France and $3.2 million in China.
