Great Call by the NFL

Guess the NFL decided the divisive 'Mother-of-all-Blowhards' has no business polluting the NFL and will keep him out!....

And you can bet that a lot of those billionaire owners are diehard Republicans and they still don't want him.

Maybe Bettman will let him buy him into the NHL seeing as his name's not Balsillie.

Because to them, the most important thing is green ($)

Limbaugh got what he wanted though. A whole lot of publicity and he can say he was discriminated against because of his political beliefs and moan about free speech. Some insiders are reporting that he doesn't even really have the money to be an owner but did this as a publicity stunt, knowing he didn't have a chance.

He just signed a 400 million dollar 8 year deal, plus he was only going to be a minority owner, so I think he could afford it, plus it's impossible to lose money in the NFL, when's the last time a team was sold? The TV contracts alone would pay a good chunk of salaries.

......when's the last time a team was sold?
2009, The Miami Dolphins .

Earlier this year Stephen Ross bought 95% of the Miami Dolphins, the team's stadium and about 100 acres of surrounding real estate for $1.1 billion. But the Dolphins are having trouble selling tickets and have $400 million in debt. The team could post a net loss this season, and during the past few months Ross has been selling small pieces to local celebrities like Gloria Estefan and Jennifer Lopez to raise the team's profile and shore up its balance sheet.

...did this as a publicity stunt,
Everything Limbaugh does is a publicity stunt. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't really believe in the political views he propounds. He is outrageous to keep his profile high.

It's just plain silly PC on the part of the NFL he was going to be a (minority) Limited Partner with no say in opperations. Further, it was far from obvious that they would have the winning bid.

The Republican party is in a sad state of affairs if its considered politically correct to ban their self-appointed mouthpiece.

Plain silly idea for Dave Checketts to think by bringing in Rush Limbaugh, it would help his chances in winning the bid. Especially since Rush seems to hate blacks, and a majority of his employees might have a problem with that.
Limbaugh is now claiming reverse discrimination/racism.

El Rushbloe likes to carp reverse discrimination/racism. He's done it before. Basically he is a demagogue and this is his way of firing up the white supremacists he plays up to....;)

It's quote like this that are borderline on the concept of elitist.

I bet none of you even listen to his program, even once in a blue moon.
930 WBEN from Buffalo, 12-3 Monday to Friday... Check it out some time.
Rush's NUMBER ONE go to guy on air is 'Black', so you are saying that he only hires his staff based on affirmative action practices and racial/gender equality issues? (His #3 is a woman).

Many of these posts are simply going by what they see or hear in the media, never validating the truth of the arguments that you have been presented with.
As has been pointed out, Limbaugh now has the opportunity for a huge civil suit over this, as the quote that so much of this outlash has been based on has NO SUPPORTING EVIDENCE!

To say that the most successful radio broadcaster in history (self-accomplished for the most part may I add) is undeserving of public attention, is absolutely absurd...
Especially since he is basically the first PRIVATE person in American history to be addressed and 'charged' to the level he was two years ago, by the American Senate led by Harry Reid.

And I personally think his part-ownership of the Rams would have been quite interesting, because throughout his 20+ years in broadcasting his daily program, he has been an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Exactly. As much as I don't like Rush Limbaugh, he is a shock jock in the mold of Howard Stern, nothing more. I find it stupid that the NFL would make such a stupid move, when it its waters are already polluted.

El Rushbloe probably staged this whole charade.
This way he can whine, carp, squeal, bellyache on how he was discriminated against...

Racists calling out racists!

What I find appaling is that two of the country's biggest racists - Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson - go on a media blitz to have Limbaugh removed from the ownership group because he is a racist. I guess in their eyes racism is fine as long as it goes their way.

Did the KKK tell you that????

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Mullah Limbaugh isn't a card carrying member of that 'fine' group of white suits!...

I've already called for him to get it over with and take over the position of 'Grand Wizard'.
