I liked (and repeatedly voted for) Miller, I hope this doesn't harm Transit City.

This is indeed happy news. The only better news is if he left office immediately. Who knows how much more damage he will do in the next 14 months?

Miller leaving means it's much more likely another left/progressive wins as mayor. George Smitherman is planning on running apparently, and if he does he'll be able to argue the left without the name calling Miller would have gotten.

For all the people here who want a more right leaning mayor this is bad news.
