Patrick was special, but Roadhouse would have been average without Jeff Healey and his band.

(edit: Wow, I just found out that Jeff Healey is gone too!. R.I.P to both of them.

Between a rock and a hard place
Too bad. I liked him.

He was the man who said, "Nobody puts Baby in a corner".

I can only marvel at the dignity, strength and courage that he and other terminally ill people show. We could all learn more than a little from their suffering.

RIP

Pancreatic cancer is one the deadliest of the cancers. That he lived since January 2008 with it is impressive. A dear friend has battled it since January 2009. I expect her to pass within the next few days. It has been an eye opening experience to see family, loved ones and hospital staff in this position. I realize that I never really appreciated what others have been through when I hear that they lost their parents to cancer, etc ...

I am left wondering how we live in a society that does not have euthanasia for the terminally ill. Surely we can offer more grace and dignity than to withhold fluids. My friend was in agony but the pain medication fucked her up mentally. Without the pain medication she was in too much agony. She didn't have control of her bodily functions and was begging to die. In 2009???

Rest in peace, Patrick.

Pancreatic cancer is definately one of the most deadliest. the 4th most deadly in Canada. Overall survival rate at %0.5.

My regards and prayers go your dear friend.

Patrick Swayze, Thanks for the entertainment and good memories. may you always be remembered fondly.

And if you are reading this...get off TERB..you have to go to heaven man!
Furthermore, I did not like dirty dancing though and have no idea why it is so popular.

Is there a Trailer Park Boys curse?

The end of Season 7 featured Patrick Swayze (in name), Denny Doherty and Sebastian Bach.

Of the three only Bach is still with us.

Roadhouse and Point Break... LOVE THOSE MOVIES... Ghost and Dirty Dancing are my wife and daughter's favorites. The wife has always had a think for Patrick. My daughter cried yesterday when she found out.

Wife's father is fighting cancer right now.

I liked Roadhouse and Point Break as well. I saw both DD and Ghost, but yes, more of the "chick flick" genre IMHO...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the North & South TV mini series' yet. Also, Youngblood which was filmed in Hamilton if I'm not mistaken...

Forgot about Youngblood. I think they had a shot of Copps in there somewhere but I don't think the whole thing was done there.
