Would they have landed on a carrier from which they would've properly prepared him for sea burial? You don't want his corpse to escape any bindings or shackles and wash ashore.

The US has the capacity to fight 2 major wars at the same time.
Iraq and Afghanistan offered virtually no challenge for US forces.
I have always been against the war in Iraq but I have seen no basis to claims that the mission in Iraq was the reason Bin Laden remained at large.
Obviously this wasn't just a lucky sighting and they didn't just stumble across him in a random search of caves and mansions.

Wounder what else we are being told wrong?

I agree throwing his body out of a cooper was not right and F their customs. Besides 24 hours was still enough time to do something better.

So yea, now we can end this war on terror and started helping out our own people here in the homeland

The US has plenty of excess military and intelligence capacity to do both and a hell of a lot more.

The US and the world would be much better off without the invasion of Iraq, although I would have been fine with this job being finished with Desert Storm.

I like Obama and of course he deserves some credit but let's keep it real and in perspective.

Republicans/conservatives will miminize the importance of anything significant that happens while a Democrat is in the Whitehouse and Democrats/liberals will maximize it. All of the political rhetoric is predictable. Conservatives will explain that President Obama "merely gave the order" to the military and intelligence services that President Bush put in place and liberals will explain that President Bush was so inept that it took a Democratic President to succeed. Both positions are, of course, bullshit.

Far better to be one of the posters with class, who congratulate the President on the result without taking shots at either administration. Both President Bush and President Obama managed to do this. That elevates them above some of the mindlessly partisan posters on this board.

I heard they already dumped his body at sea - I hope it was him because without concrete proof (e.g. his head on a stick) - Al Qaeda will just say it was an elaborate ruse.

If I was in charge, I'd dissect his body into 6" pieces to send to DNA labs around the world with the exception of his head, dick/balls and his ass. With those I'd make a memorial by shoving his head between his two butt cheeks with his dick and balls hanging out his mouth. I'd put this on display at the WTC site in glass vacuum box on a viewing post that says 'Don't Fuck With Us!'.

Of course I could be a little bitter. I spent two hours trapped in a packed subway car just outside of our WTC stop. I lost friends to this asshole and suddenly a news flash that he is dead but the body is gone and other than the news - I feel the same as I did when he was alive and missing. I feel a little cheated. Just my perspective.

They cut off Che Guevara's fingers along with the photos to prove his death - maybe they did the same.

The reality is that the US has massive amounts of excess military and intelligence capacity for Iraq and Bin Laden and a hell of a lot of other issues.

Bin Laden was already America's most wanted terrorist before Obama and he was not captured now because of more boots on the ground.
