I have as many clients complaining about Sympatico as Rogers.
FYI.
They ALL suck.

Since I switched to the new Rogers 5 Meg service it's been much better then the old 1.5 or 3 Meg modems I had. With the 5 Meg services you have to buy the modem for $99 and you then own it so I think they are giving the 5 Meg modems more DNS priority over the old modems that you get for free.

I can upload at over 700K with this 5 Meg modem too... big improvement over the old modem.

I have the Bell Sympatico 3 meg modem too and I'm about to cancel that service since I don't use it any longer now that I have the Rogers 5 meg. I’ve had the 5 meg service 4 months now and it’s never failed me yet. I kept the Sympatico as a backup…. But for $64 a month it’s unjustified now.

used sympatico for a few years. used rogers a bit too...

definately prefer my commercial grade 10mbit [4 dsl lines bonded together] a bit pricey at $200/month but absolutely worth the effort for me.

one thing i have noted is sympatico supports idiotic habit of telling there users to unplug and discard firewalls/natboxes/defences for the "reason" that "sympatico doesnt support that...] which in turn means that the sympatico users wind up being exposed to the wilds of the net and all that it brings. [spammers, virii, etc blah].

Then they try to sell you there "security bundle"
I just called them up to cancel my 3 meg service… They offered to drop my price from $64 to $44 for 3 months. I said that’s still not going to make it faster! I told her I got the new Rogers 5 meg and it’s faster on the upload then your service use to be. Then she says “Oh you must have a virus� yeah right!

I had Rogers for a few years and eventually gave up on it - it sucked - painfully slow in my area, especially at peak user times, and too much down time.

I've been using Sympatico DSL for almost 2 years with NO problems ( down time or slow speed ), but recently it goes down for hours at a time. I'm currently waiting for "3rd level technical assistance " to figure out the problem :rolleyes: Anyone else have this problem. When it is "down", it "physically" connects fine, but I can't receive email or browse the net. It works for a few hours then is down again - it seems to be down weekday evenings mostly, but can stray from that pattern.

Do you have ultra or regular broadband???
I have regular and it's worked fine so far but its only been 6 months. I think that almost every broadband company will have SOME down-time

I've had Sympatico DSL for years and it's been great. Very rarely do I have problems with connectivity.

HOWEVER, I must say Sympatico's email service is GARBAGE!!! They delete all messages after 25 days. Yup, ALL messages. Inbox, read, unread, foldered... doesn't matter. They delete eveything. What a farken joke. Luckily I rely on other email services, cuz Sympatico is crap.

GRRR ... it just went down for abt 3 hours as I was abt to submit this.

Escohort, I have regular DSL. We're talking downtime of average 6hrs almost daily.

Goober, it's no laughing matter ! ... amusing none the less ! ... if only a little blue pill would fix my 'net disfunction.
