You guys are basically ruining the sport of hockey with your cockamine theories. The season is only 3 games old and you're ready to write off a team?

Whatever happened to just enoying the damn game and not overanalysing anything?
Maybe hockey threads should be moved to the "Political Forum". It seems like the fate of the world hangs in the balance of the hockey season.

Sheik my friend:

While the good doc agrees with you that some people just enjoy watching games, some people also enjoy talking, including analyzing games that they are going to watch. It is different stroke for different folks. Looking at the posts in this thread, the good doc does not believe anybody is writing off the Senators or the Sabres. I started the thread basically to ask fellow TERBites’ insights on the Senators and it is beneficial to hear their opinions, provided that they understand the Senators. In my view, the only ones who are overanalyzing anything are the professional analysts. I doubt that anyone of us in the thread belongs to that category. I would suggest those who just want to enjoy the games to just ignore us, just like a lot of the TERBites who do not care about hockey. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving pal. :)

What ruins the game more is NOT being able to discuss the games. Heck, it's more interesting than discussing the weather.

Actually for me, it helps me accept the winter months alot easier. I hate winter in the GTA- it's so dirty, slushy, wet, cold and way too salty and polluted. I come from Northern Ontario where the snow is always fresh and pristine, light and easy to shovel... even if there is more up there... and it's reliable- you know it'll be on the slopes when you plan a skiing or sledding trip.

ya i know- why don't i move back there, mullethead! well, i've made my compromises and this is where it led me to. i can't get paid for what i do up there...

If Toronto wins the Cup, bet you won't say you hate winter in GTA. LOL!!!
Back to Ottawa, they lost another close game tonight to Calgary 1-0. The good doc can think of last season, they lost all those close games in the playoffs with Buffalo. Perhaps there is something the Senators should learn???

i don't know where that came from, doc... but, if they win I'd be willing to bet it happens IN JUNE!

(shhh! don't tell anyone, but i'm not really a leafs fan... my heart's always been in Pittsburgh)

yeah. that Calgary can't score! ok.. maybe 1 goal. but, Tanguay was not the right player to get for Iginla... he needs a centreman, not another winger.

there are quite a few on here that pick the flames to win the cup this year... i don't see that happening at all.

So far Toronto Maple Leaf has been impressive. The good doc will not be surprised at all if they top Ottawa and go to playoff this year. :) I also like Pittsburgh's offense with those youngsters. They will score a lot of goals. The only problem is the Penguins' defense is too porous and will be scored upon a lot by other good teams.

A little knowledge is a good thing instead of your biased non-sensical interpretation of the situation.

First off, he was not a "star", he was a no dress for most games.

By doing this they now clear a $1M off their cap for a player who was of no use to them. I guess that's dumb?

Blew a three goal lead to the Caps, lost 4-3 on OT.

Things are not so rosy in Ottawa, how the mighty have fallen!
Yes, another loss for the Senaturds and their captain, Alfredsdaughter

Sucks to be a Senaturd fan and Leaf hater right now :D

I think the Ottawa players are confused. Someone must have told them they have to start playing playoff hockey...
LOL!!! Jokes aside, one would assume John Muckler and his associates are working on something to ensure the Senators are still mighty now and come playoffs.

As much as I'm enjoying the Ottawa slide...

....I can't see it lasting....a daring trade will be made.....and that will wake these guys up.....Ottawa has way too much talent to be playing this poorly...But for now, I'm enjoying it immensely...

doesn't it seem though, that the Sens still look incredible when going down their roster? I mean, it looks like they should be the team on the end of an unbeaten season opening streak!

I'd love to see Toronto swing a deal for Alfredsson or Forsberg for Kabina. Especially as Toronto is doing so well without Pavel
for sure. but, how'd we get that under the less than 2mill cap space available? well, i guess there's room- but, what if that leaves a greater hole in the roster? we'd be handcuffed again like last season, wouldn't we?

JFJr is doing one thing right to leave alittle cap space for the trading deadline... you never know what will come up.

kinda like how edmonton went for Roloson after getting Pronger before the season...

nobody should get too flustered about the sens' fall, just as the leafs current ok position is sure to be merely temporary

Tucker/Sundin/Alfredsson - I could see a lot of goals from that..lol
That will make the Leafs too mighty. The good doc says ship Alfredsson to the no man's land somewhere in the Western Conference. LOL!!!

Have a heart. I'd just like to see a solid playoff run.
A first line like that would be hard to keep off the score sheet.
Yes, Kathleen darling, the good doc has plenty of heart for you but none for Tucker nor Sundin nor Alfredsson. ;) If the Leafs play consistently like they did for the majority of the season, they will go to playoffs, Alfredsson or no Alfredsson. Would that work for you, sweetheart??? *Wink, wink.* LOL!!!
