You just want war with Iran and like Netanyahu, think claiming that they are just months away from building a bomb is the way to justify it.So you refuse to criticize Iran for their controversial nuclear program because Israel (who Iran has been openly hostile to) has been worried about their nuclear program?
Which of Iran's current actions are justifiable for a government looking to revive the treaty?
- collecting 12 times the treaty's allowed amount of 3% U-235 (when they only have one reactor?
- Enriching large amounts of 20% enriched allegedly for an antique research reactor?
- Saying they will enrich to 60% if they need (which has no conceivable civilian use)
- Continuing to expand their already ridiculous enrichment capacity for their one reactor?
- Creation of enriched uranium metal?
- Denying access to IAEA inspectors?
- having undeclared nuclear sites that may have been active as late as 2018?
- stopping IAEA from having access to cameras meant to monitor enrichment activities?
To add, because of the conflict Saudi Arabia has been looking to mirror Iran's nuclear activity and neither of us think any good can come from that.
I have been clear that I don't know if Iran wants nukes or not but they definitely want to display their regional power by having the possibility.
Netanyahu has been saying the sky is falling for 27 years, its getting tired, that argument.
Iran is currently negotiating rejoining the JCPOA while Biden's team tries to play hardball with some ancient hawks at the table.
But nobody doubts their end goal is rejoining that treaty in exchange for the US finally honouring its commitment to end sanctions.
Which is exactly what you'd hope a peaceful country would do, rather than say, assassinate key figures hoping to start a war.
Twice they were goaded into trying to start a war and twice they held back.
The commercial airline was an epic tragedy, but that blame should be shared amongst all those who put the situation so close to war.
That includes Iran, the US and Israel.
