Howdy,

I am a movie junkie. I swear I have seen thousands of movies (okay I might be exaggerating a bit) but I have seen alot. My friends get frustrated when we go to rent a movie and I'm like "Seen it" for 30 minutes *lol*
Nothing moves me more (besides music) then an excellent written story and an excellent cast.

LOL! As much as I agree with you, I mean, man, The Sound of Music is your mom's favorite movie, let's respect that one man's trash is another man's treasure.

LOL. Yeah my taste in movies is all over the place.

My main criteria for movies on the list are just movies that I enjoyed watching and would be willing to watch again.

Sound of music has sentimental value because it seems to be on TV every year around Xmas/New Years and for a long time it was a family tradition to watch it.

Half Baked is just a Dave Chapelle vehicle, and I've always found him to be hilarious even waaaaay before the Chapelle Show which is also comic genius.

BTW Baltimoron,

The Sting is a great movie!

In order of memory:

1. U-571
...
8. Hunt for Red October
...
So many more, these are the only ones I can think of now....
I see you like submarine movies too... Have you seen Das Boot? In German but usually with English subtitles. Its about a WWII Nazi sub and its crew - a little long, but brilliant nevertheless, IMO.

Yeah, I tried watching Das Boot, but it was too long and too 'foreign' for my tastes. I did like K19: The Widowmaker, even though Harrison Ford as a Russian captain was unintentionally hilarious.

Another sub movie which was funny but definitely not a great movie was Down Periscope with Frasier's Kelsey Grammar and Rob Schneider. Star Trek 2 was also kind of like a sub movie at the end.

I thought Harrison Ford was pretty good in that movie, actually.

LOL! I can just picture the Star Trek crew saying... "Right full rudder, set speed 30 knots!"

House of Games
Confidence (just 'cuz it has Rachel Weisz)
Matchstick Men
The Sting II
Ocean's 12 (oh this was so bad, but Catherine Zeta Jones was so hot)
