I would like to hear from all the tea drinkers in TERBland. What kind of tea you like to drink ?

I only recently discovered loose leaf. I have always wanted to try it, but never got around to finding and going to a tea store. I have always drank bag tea, usually Red Rose, since I developed a taste for it when I was in my teens(approx 30 yrs ago).
I tried loose leaf from The Bulk Store and thought not bad, but I do not understand what the fuss is about.

Then I tried loose leaf from a real tea store and I will never go back to bag tea.

Loose leaf from a real tea store is great ! Now I see what the fuss is about.
So far I like ...
Black Breakfast Tea(my previous fav, for about two weeks)
Earl Grey
Rooibos Orange and Ginger(my new fav, for the last two weeks. lol)

The wife and I went to Pippens on Queen(at Wineva) in the Beaches. I choose a black breakfast tea, which I thought was the best tea I ever had. She got the Rooibos. After I finished off my tea she told me to have some of hers. Now the Rooibos blend is my favorite, but of course I am going to try something new next time I get to Pippins which means I may have a new favorite.

If you have not tried loose leaf and are a tea drinker(lover), you must try loose leaf from a real tea store.
If you like it, get a good infuser, about $4, and enjoy your first real cup of tea.

I love tea, but sadly have been forced to drink bag tea lately. The tea shop I used to buy from in KW shut down recently, and until I find another, no loose leaf for me. I enjoy green tea the most of the regular teas, though earl grey, orange pekoe and a nice white tea are always good. A few years ago at an old tea shop in Ayr I found a loose leaf flavour called Lover's Leap that I loved, but sadly the shop closed down, and I have not found that blend since.

I love a nice cup of tea and will go out of my way to find some unique blends. When I'm at home I'll take the time to make a nice matcha green tea but when I'm out I'll usually opt for a white tea.
Two of my favorite teas are from Tealish

Flowering teas are great for when you have company, they taste great and look beautiful brewing.

My cup of tea, is black teas blended. I mix my own with various black and darjeelings. Teabags are my last resort. It is difficult to find good tea at major coffee palces including Starbuck. In Toronto, there was good tea for a while at Indigo/Chapters till Starbuck took over.
Also in Toronto I have enjoyed good tea at Four Seasons and Windsor Arms.
I would be grateful if this thread leads to discovery of good tea places in Toronto.
Tks.

I drink loose leafs at home and teabags at work. Teabags are mostly for convenience. Mostly green tea, black tea and oolong tea are my go to choices.

Bag teas were introduced during WWII. They took all the left over crumbs and tea dust and put it into a filter bag because of war rationing. Most people will not take to leaf teas right away. You have to give it a chance to appreciate a good tea. A good way to start to enjoy is to put a regular tea bag into a tea pot and place some leaf teas into the pot to brew a tea with some extra flavor. Try a tea with an Earl Grey tea bag and a few Oolong tea leaves in a pot ( about a tea spoon ), drink with condensed milk ( sugar optional )

Type of tea is important but what is even more important is how you MAKE it. Only Indian and Middle East people know how to brew a good cup of tea. I never drink to made by English or any North American, they have no idea.

looseleaf. anything from roobois to jasmine to English black breakfast tea.

I don't mind loose leaves, but since getting a bodum bora bora, there's no turning back.

As someone who is of Irish heritage I have had many a cup of tea in my life. If you go over to Ireland they drink tea like water. 6-8 cups a day.

I prefer loose tea but for simplicity I mostly drink from the bag. Barry's is my brand of choice.
