I took this out of a meme on Twitter but after research you are right. It was Gary Evans.I think there was an actual serial killer that started with burglary. He would steal things in one house and leave them in their next victim’s house confusing everyone.
Sometimes random things like a single sock or just one earring.
An interesting movie plot would be about detectives searching for a serial killer who leaves some physical evidence, (ie: DNA, blood, hair, etc.) of the NEXT intended victim at the scene of each crime. It would take at least the first three acts of the story arc for the lead detective to make the connection, because there would be no connection between that physical evidence and the current investigation. When the pattern is noticed, however, there's still a big problem in matching the physical evidence to a person as yet unrelated to any of the previous victims, but a good movie cop should be able to do it about nine minutes before the movie ends.I think there was an actual serial killer that started with burglary. He would steal things in one house and leave them in their next victim’s house confusing everyone.
