But according to an interview with Patrick Stewart, who plays Professor X in the films, “X-Men 3” will be up and running by the summer, with production slated to begin in either June or July.

"It will probably be a little bit later than that, but they are holding to their release date for the film, which will be summer of 2006,” Stewart told the BBC Five Live radio show recently. “So, we gotta start shooting quite soon, because films like X-Men are as complicated in their post-production as they are during production."

Based on the twists at the end of the second film, many fans have drawn the conclusion that the film will chart a dark and hugely popular part of the X-Men mythos – The Dark Phoenix Saga. Stewart remained tight lipped about the plot of the film.

-Spider Man 2
-Toy Story 2
-Scream 2
-Aliens

Interesting that some of the cast members will not return. That doesn't sit right with me. Add to the fact that they even have not started shooting it by now, will only add to the feeling of a rushed job meaning shitty quality. JMO

Who else from the first two isn't going to be in it?
Are they going to replace him or just not have the Cyclops character in it at all!!??!

Though since its going to be the Dark Phoenix Saga; methinks that the Cyclops character would be pretty integral to the plot.

LOL, Aliens is almost 20 years old. Wouldn't consider that very recent, unless you were refering to Aliens vs Predator.

I think Angela Basset would have made a perfect storm but hey, it's a movie.

She would have been my first and only choice. DAMN YOU HOLLYWOOD!! DAMN YOU!!!

Angela Basset would have been a better choice for Storm but as far as casting goes the X-films have done a pretty good job of casting.

Cyclops, Prof X, Magneto, Marvel Girl, Nightcrawler etc. have all been pretty good choices.
