Why buy the X-box 360 when P3 is siad to kick it's ass??? I don't get it! 360 seems to be a one trick pony, as in it can only play 360 games and none of the old x-box games?

The 360 can play the old xbox games but the problem is it can only play certain ones. It will only play the games they consider the best ones. Or the ones that sold the most copies. You also need the hard drive for the 360 to play the old games.
Im not saying the ps3 wont kick the 360s ass but the 360 is still a very good machine.

If your online and have the hard drive. I'll wait for the price to drop, then get one. I still like the old Xbox...

Plus unless you have a HDTV you cant take full advantage of what the machine has to offer. Some of the games dont look that much different from the xbox. You need HD to get the full wow factor from the 360.

True. These prices are high. And I heard the PS3 is going to be even higher in price.
I should start playing computer games, I never got into it. With the prices of consoles nowadays it might be a good way to go.
I Have a very good HDTV LCD so I should be in good shape. But I think I might wait till they drop the price.

Yeah well I was an early adopter..... When the blub is new, a 9 foot picture is jaw dropping!!! Halo almost gave me a heart attack!
I have always wanted to get a projector, as i thought it would look amazing for games. I just dont have a big enough space to put one. But when i do watch out. I will be buying one for sure.

BUT 1080i is awsome. Ever had to turn your head to watch the long bomb???
TSN and CBC is really pretty! High def games are very, very nice too. A buddy got a DLP projector from Staples.ca for under 900!!! bastard. I paid 5000 three years ago.

The PS3 will likely be more expensive than the 360. Sony has gone ahead with Blu-ray technology. Their disc drives are costing them US $100 for each PS3 unit. Microsoft is only paying US$30 for their drives. Eventually, the price of the PS3 will drop but not anytime soon after launch. Estimates are saying that it will be US$600 - $700 for a PS3. If the Blu-ray prooves to be successful, Sony will be ahead though as they would be able to make huge games. They are saying that with the Blu-ray technology, 60 - 70 GB of data could possibly be stored on one DVD disc. However, as of now, Microsoft dominates in the online play, which is now one of the most important aspects of a game lately. We will see in the spring when the PS3 comes out. I myself am getting a 360. I bought the first XBOX because of Halo and I will by the 360 because of Halo 3 which is rumoured to release on the same day as the PS3.

PS3 will not play many of the old PS2 games as the newer PS2 Systems are having a hard time playing some of the older PS2 games with only some of the technology from the PS3 being implemented. With Sony's recent track history i will stay away from the PS3 for a longtime.

3500Hr really isnt that bad. To beable to play in 1080i is worth it to me.
You say your buddy found one for under 900. wow. I have never found any that cheap. Every time I look I always find them around 10000-5000. Im going to have to check staples.
If everything lloks as good as you say that would be money well spent.
It was a cheap one on sale during the summer. Still 899x600 and it was DLP too! Still you can find good ones for under 2k now.

I will have to check those sites out. If I can nab one at a good price like that I will get it. How much space do you need from projector to wall to get the best effect.
I read that Microsoft is losing money on every X-box sold and is simply using the system as a loss-leader to get people to buy the games.

They don't care, because once you buy the console, you got to buy the games which is where they make most of their coin and on XBOX Live.
At CAD$70 average per game, and millions of copies sold....well you do the math.
