I would like to start off by saying that I have always viewed Americans to be are allies and our brothers but lately I have herd some really messed up things from the Americans whom I have to deal with.

Now with ignorance I do not mind it, sometimes I get a kick out of it and had one believing that we use metric time and calendars. (This would explain a different thanks giving LOL)

What has me upset with them now is the so called land of the free calling Canadians unruly! What kind of Fascist bull crap is that? Sorry we enjoy real freedom and not Nazi Fascism you brainwashed cretin. One of many US laws I do respect from a country that preaches freedom yet imposes a legal drinking age of 21. They can send someone only 18 years of age to war.
The drinking age there is actual law too not just a mere suggestion.

I have been legal age for a long time but was told I could not treat my 19 year old nephew to a beer at an American bar, This offended me because he is even with an adult , he himself is an adult.

You are old enough to die for your country but no old enough to really live.

that Fascism not freedom

OMG! Did we really call you unruly? I can see how you'd be offended by such harsh and uncivilized language. If this goes unchecked, how long before we start calling you kakadoodiehead and stupidface.

I'm writing my Congressman to demand a full and immediate apology. As a peace offering I'm willing to send you Hillary.

Dont worry, when you become the 51st State (we might split it up into 4 states so that the new flag has nine rows of 6 stars, but I digress), we'll fix that Thanksgiving Day issue and the funny temperature thing for you. And Boxing Day... what the heck is that all about?

21 year old drinking are was tied to Federal money and highway bills. New York raised theirs to 19 somewhere around 1979 but had to raise it to 21 in order to get federal highway funds. They also imposed a 55 MPH speed limit about the same time. Well the 55 MPH pretty much so went away but the 19 stuck.

BTW the legal drinking age 18 when I was a teen.

Good memory. Vermont was the last holdout on the 18 yr old drinking age because they have (one of) the least number of federal interstate highway miles, hence the least amount of matching funds to lose.

Every state when up at different intervals at different times, I chased it 1981 through 1983 depending on whether I was at home, or at school, or which semester it was.

And yes, we were unruly... back then we called it obnoxious though.

In a very dark place
Drinking age laws didn't matter on a Canadian base if you were in the mess, I would hope that the same applies for Yanks in the service.

If it was American beer they were doing him and favor and he should thank them.

How do you loose money on a lower Drinking age?

I guess you do not Tax it as much as we do but I would think that a lower drinking age would generate allot more review .\

The Drinking age should be lower then the driving age. Maybe 13-14ish

Why is the ability to drink so important to you? There are lots of reasons for kids not to drink.

Drinking does not improve anyone's quality of life as far as I have observed.

I am just having fun with the Drinking age part but seriously I do think some of the Americans should re think what freedom is because some of the Americans I deal with from certain States seem a very Fascist.

i'm still wondering...

...what bout the unruly part? when where what context?

and canada isn't all taht free
yes we have med pot and ladies can walk around topless in public, and 18/19 year olds can drink

but we're taxed to death, have insane hate crime laws and the government completely controls 98% of schools and health care. sure over all it's not bad but we have blinders on when it comes to canadian freedoms.

It's my understanding that the typical human male reaches neural maturity at about 20 years. A beer or two won't hurt even a child, but it's not a brilliant idea and it comes down to a matter of culture. The American culture is one in which a two second hug rule makes sense for children. It's not better or worse, just, uh, different.

I don't think canadians are free. You can't mention the elephants in the room that you mention in polite company. And just on a person level, everything you say has to be couched in non offensive language....you can't just be straight with people here else they just turn off.

How are you supposed to get laid at 18 if your date can't drink until she's 21 ?
