Now before all you people jump on me as some woman beater, let me explain.

A bunch of friends and I brought up this topic - "If a woman decided to fight you, what would you do?"

There were basically 2 schools of thought;

1) Walk away, you never put your hands on a woman.

2) If a woman wants to fight you like a man, treat her like a man.

Opinions?

It depends, if she's fat and/or ugly and throws a punch at me, you have to stick around and fight her like the man that she is.

If she's pretty/hot/cute she can throw as many punches at me as she wants, and I'd take them and not do a thing.

Sorry to have to say it but I have known some very big and very tough woman. Ones who would beat the daylights out of any man who didn't protect himself.....bottom line there.
These woman acted in a way that IMHO didn't deserve the courtesies afforded woman who actually act like woman

I think you captured the problem with your first sentence. She could outweigh you and be taller than you (and perhaps even have a baseball bat). But, when the police arrive and it hits the newspapers none of that will matter it will be she is a woman and you're a man ipso facto you assaulted her. I'm not saying that I'd do it if she unprovokedly attacked me, but you really only have one option - walk away.

You are being set up. The way the question is worded assumed that you are a sexist to begin with. They are trying to get you to subconsciously admit that you think women are somehow in a weaker league to begin with. It's a trap, do not fall for it.

Man are human, woman are human. The real question is more like "Are you a human beater?" "Would you ever hit someone?"

Just because someone punches you doesn't mean that you are allowed to punch back. The law allows self-defence but it does not allow revenge. If someone hits you, you can always walk away and call the police. If you engage him (or her) in a fight, you will both be charged when the police arrives.

A couple of years ago, a "friend" of mind brought up this topic with me. It's all part of her little scheme on trying to exert mind control on me. Needless to say, we are no longer friends.

The first one I was totally stunned by and swam out into Lake Erie to drown myself.

The second one (she was pretty strong) I ended up in a shoving match with.

The third one, I hammered on the brakes on my car, she opened the door and I pushed her out of my car and drove away.

Due to guys beating up their wifes and the wife not wanting to press charges, if its found that you did cause her injury's or the other way around. The police can and will arrest that person who hurt them even if the other person does not want that to happen.

Its been that way for a few years now here in Michigan and many other states.

It BS as far as I care but there is the side that says she might love you too much to file a charge on you, so maybe its good.

But then one just needs not to show up in court and the charges should be drop but the arrest is still on your record.

I would try my best to avoid being in such a position but if I was forced to defend myself, I wouldn't be just blocking, ducking, and weaving.

If some crazy bitch is about to attack with a weapon, she is fair game and if she happens to get knocked out, crippled, or killed, too bad.

Due to guys beating up their wifes and the wife not wanting to press charges, if its found that you did cause her injury's or the other way around. The police can and will arrest that person who hurt them even if the other person does not want that to happen.

Its been that way for a few years now here in Michigan and many other states.

Ontario too. And the accused is put on a no contact bail until trial which could be year down the line. It's a hard line, but prior to that there were pig guys and doormat GF's and the guy could do major damage without getting any sanction.
