Would you boycott a store that replaces humans?

These stores still need people do buy their stuff. I just read that uniqlo just replaced most of their workers with robots. Would you boycott them or do you care?

Business should also realize that people need to work such that they can shop at the stores.
Robots don't go shopping!
What's society going to degrade down to?

Can’t wait until fast food places like Tim Hortons and McDonalds fully automate their process. No reason for this many humans to be working there and messing up the flow.

They will also have these self driving drone deliveries very soon so no more worries about wasting time in grocery stores even though Grocery Gateway is partly there still needs huge improvements and optimizations since they have humans sorting, packing and delivering.

Now people will have more time to socialize and enjoy life. It will be tough at first but I agree now people will be more valued for their talent, entertainment value and art form.

It's just a matter of time before robots replace most of us. Hardest hit so far are jobs like bank tellers, farmers and assembly line workers. We're currently seeing the beginning of the end of retail. Jobs in transportation and accounting/book keeping will feel it soon, then it will be doctors, lawyers, etc. We should be cutting immigration to zero. The last thing Canada needs is more people. The way of the future is low population (with high levels of education) and high automation.

Nobody gets it, there's a tipping point. Robots don't buy things and contribute to economies. When you eliminate jobs the collapse begins.

I prefer to check out my own stuff at Loblaw and Canadian Tire, I prefer to enter my order at McDonalds at the machine. The machines are much more polite, it is the person that purposely fucks up your coffee order and gives you cream and sugar when I ask for milk and Splenda. Just because they are having a shitty day.

Robots are stupid machines, if the programmer has smoken one too many.....

Earlier this decade CIBC culled a quarter of their workforce, partially contributing to a mini-recession back in 2012. I cut ties with the bank, will not deal with companies where loyalty doesn't matter.

Automation is the future and we need to embrace and adapt to it. To reject it, would be rejecting innovation and the advancement of humanity. Theoretically, automation and an abundance of jobs can coexist. People will need to adapt by shifting to roles that innovate like R&D instead of mindless repetitive processes. The problem is people naturally tend to resist change.

That's the point I was trying to make.
You clarified it in a way much better than I could.:very_drunk:

Depends what they’re replacing humans with. I’d absolutely shop at a store where all the employees were replaced with puppies. That would be adorable.

Demographics will dictate the future just as much as technology. Robots are inevitable as there won't be enough people to do these menial jobs anyway
