Would this be the true Motivation behind C36

Just as there are many definitions of what it means to be Christian, there are many forms of feminism.

The pro-C36 type of feminism is usually referred to as abolitionist, prohibitionist, or carceral feminism. Melissa Farley and Julie Bindel fall into this category.

Very much the opposite of the sex positive feminism I identify with.

So it begs the question.

What is the distribution of the various types of feminism? How about the two most significant groups?

As a general note. Feminists try to give women more power. That includes raising the price of sex (as that is the main bargaining chip women have). Whether it be through banned prostitution , unfair divorce and custody laws, one sided rape accusation laws. At least this is the gist of things in Sweden and feminist hotspots.

Again. Not all feminists.

Good question and a difficult one because feminism is not so clearly defined and seems to have broken apart into difference of opinions... First wave feminism just represented privileged white women, second wave still was centered around white women, but with the civil rights movement and gay rights, other forms of feminism have come to light. Now in the 3rd wave of feminism, any disenfranchised and oppressed group has their own feminist critique. Feminism also branches out into Christianity and right wing movements who argue from a feminist perspective that being chaste and virginal are women's strengths.

It's really a tricky thing to define, but as a feminist working in this industry, I define myself as a sex-positive feminist in support of sexual rights and freedoms no matter what your race, culture, gender, sexuality and ability is.

However, I think presently feminism is kind of on hold. While many of my colleagues define themselves as feminists, I understand this is not the mainstream and there is a lot of confusion and misunderstanding around the word.

I believe this is the best answer to the question of Feminism in the following.

The belief that women are and should be treated as potential intellectual equals and social equals to men. These people can be either male or female human beings,
although the ideology is commonly (and perhaps falsely) associated mainly with women.

The basic idea of Feminism revolves around the principle that just because human bodies are designed to perform
certain procreative functions, biological elements need not dictate intellectual and social functions, capabilities, and rights.

Feminism also, by its nature, embraces the belief that all people are entitled to freedom and liberty within reason--including equal civil rights--
and that discrimination should not be made based on gender, sexual orientation, skin color, ethnicity, religion, culture, or lifestyle.

Feminists--and all persons interested in civil equality and intellectuality--are dedicated to fighting the ignorance that says people are controlled by and limited to their biology.
Feminism is the belief that all people are entitled to the same civil rights and liberties and can be intellectual equals regardless of gender.
However, you should still hold the door for a feminist; this is known as respect or politeness and need have nothing whatever to do with gender discrimination.

Femnist Adj. "of or relating to or advocating equal rights for women; "feminist critique"

Femnist (Noun) Quotation by Rebecca Wild
"People call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat or a prostitute"

This is why, that last Quotation, from this type of lady, makes me thing the term should be changed to either "Holier than thou" or simply put "BITCH" !!
