I am going away in a few days and after realizing how heavy bringing my books with me will be I decided I would like an Ipad or even a decent Ereader.
Anyone?

An email-reader could be is the way to go but let me suggest a blackberry playbook. You can probably get one for $100 or so and despite the fact that it was much maligned in the press it has excellent functionality, includes an excellent day-reader (kobo) and is a good Internet browser. If you want to play angry birds its not for you but if you want email, Internet browser, etc-reader etc in one compact and economical package this really is the way to go

I do NOT recommend an original iPad. They, unfortunately, are obsolete. They don't run the most recent OS, are slow, crash apps a lot, and generally have gone the way of the dodo.

blackberry playbook or Kobo ereader. Either of these easy to find? I can't seem to find anywhere that has them in stock. :(

Somewhere
You should be able to find the Kobo at any Indigo/Chapters stores, as well as Future Shop/BestBuy/The Source stores.
