Nothing probably would have happened. And who knows. Maybe the teller kept the $80 but I don’t know ….. I just couldn’t steal it. Lame I know right?!?!? LOL

ATM's have cameras so every transaction is recorded, your face. It's best to be honest and return what does not belong to you.
Avoids complications. Glad you were honest.

The camera records faces but they won't record the actual type and number of bills dispensed unless you throw them over your head in glee. If your ATM has the correct amount on your receipt but the machine has dispensed an excess amount, they can't determine when the error happened unless it is a continuous event.

While my honesty is above reproach - so is my compassion for others and I would hate to highlight a mistake that could cause a hard working person to lose their job. The thought of the family foraging local garbage bins to feed themselves, little Timmy missing his lifesaving operation ... no .. I will swallow my honesty for the greater good. I will take that extra cash and seek out a hardworking dancer so that she may eat. Then the universe is as it should be !
